Pack Up Your Troubles…

15/05/201426

How does it go again… oh that is right!!

Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag, and smile, smile, smile…

Don’t let your joy and laughter hear the snag, smile boys, that’s the style!

Well it is the Bishop here reporting in for duty, and what a week it has been. Scotty’s Passage was open on Tuesday morning… but I did warn you! And Simon, Dave and George all paid the price, leaving some skin behind! If your name is not SCOTTY… beware!

Hang on is that an angel? Oh no, it’s Sophie Chan!

OK, it’s guessing game time. One of these fish writes for the New York Times. The others write for the Daily Telegraph. Can you guess which one writes for the NYT?

Continuing our series on ROCKS OF THE BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL…. today we examine surge rock. For those pathetic A-teamers who insist on racing back, surge rock is perhaps the most important rock of all. Positioned right on the point and at a 45 degree angle, most morning’s winner will have timed the surge around this rock perfectly.

And here is todays winner (who incidentally cut me off on surge rock). All the way from potato famine stricken Ireland… it is Alex!

Casting for Speilbergs movie of the BFG was in full swing this morning. Here is one hopeful, freshly back from swinging the axe down in Canberra. Fortunatley I earn a smidgen under $180,000 a year so will not have to pay the temporary, interim, brief, fleeting, impermanent, momentary, passing, provisional, stopgap, makeshift levy!

Finally it was off to coffee where this mornings topics of conversation included Julie Bishops new hair-do, the role of women in the Anglican Church, Dave’s revelation that he owns a farm and how we all miss the Spaniard who is off doing peacemaking in Columbia. So smile, smile, smile…

This morning there were 95 swimmers. One was new and 71 used iLog (yay!). Water temp 21.1

I have to write a sermon now on the Good Samaritan. If you have any ideas, feel free to leave them in the comments section. Have a great day!

I liked the photos with sun halos. It captures the positive glow I get from my morning swim. Just as well because talk of fast swimming, firsts, swimming near any of the rocks deliberately does not accord with my swim experience at all. I enjoyed the demonstration of butterfly stroke across Shelly beach today. It was marvellous!

There are lots of good Samaritans at BB that make my day – if you ever got into trouble or were unsure in the swim there is always help

Can’t believe how the A-team have stolen the blog-tarting show!!:-)
    “What’s the use of worrying?
    It never was worthwhile….”
Reporting in from Da Nang Beach, Vietnam – (was China Beach for those who remember the war).
Perfect 10K swimming conditions – clear, clean, safe, water a lovely temp, but has to be early to avoid serious sun-burn!

Great conditions again this morning with calm, clear waters and lovely sunshine with plenty of fish to see at the point.
Definitely worth the double lap with 14 swimmers enjoying the
    trip.

    Good point Peter.
    Here is Luke 10:36-37
Which of the these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?
The expert of the law replied; the one who had mercy on him. Jesus told him, go and do likewise.

    I dunno!!
Good Samritans, Jesus, the bible references – what is the blog coming too!??
What happened to all the insults, political incorrectness, rude nicknames, inappropriate photos, balloon abuse we used to have??
I tell you what’s happened …Lesbubbles is no longer blogging! ;-p

Hmm, I’m torn.. I do like Tim’s religious-fanatic approach to blogging. At the same time, I do miss your toilet humour Lesley.
If only there was a way to blend the two…

Yes, Sarah. Another blog dedicated to the A-Team.
I kind of like it though. Takes the pressure off me to entertain everybody. Good to have a day off every now and then.

Excuse me! I quote from my Wednesday comment:
“Stunning morning. Wednesdays are the new Thursdays Lainey!
Your fish map beats Manly Council’s hands down.”

sometimes blogs are SO good that no comments are needed – as was clearly the case with yours yesterday LL!

When hardly anyone comments even though you included all swimmers it’s easy to think… maybe I shouldn’t have written that, did I offend by that, was that just plain corny/stupid. I know I should grow a backbone and take more calcium but…I did shift out of my preferred Thursday spot so there would be a blogger every day. (Just having a winge sorry. Still wish more people would comment for all blogs though as it is nice to know they are being read and enjoyed.)

    A wonderful blog Tim….
not quite as good as E-Laines effort yesterday but getting there.
Love the Fingers of God on the individual images.
    Cryptic?
Normally I would have commented yesterday regarding E-Laines wonderful blog but I ran out of paper and had to cut the comments short.
    Lips nice haircut.

I LOVE your blogs and really enjoyed yesterday’s. I always look forward the blogs each day but don’t always comment because my comments are banal compared to the excellent text and photos of each blog. Thanks for excellent blogging!

    Hi Elaine
The “Like” and “location” I post most days is to remind the blogger there are many followers out there. And to try a convince the webmaster to add a “hits ” counter or “Like” button!!!!! Webmaster please add the button!!
On Mon I reported that over 45500 separate people have accessed the blog so far this year, from 20 countries, that does not account for return hits by any of those 45500 people. The last report of daily hits was in January when there were 600-1100 hits per day. So Elaine I can assure you that your blogs are read and appreciated by a very large and diverse readership.
    Regards
    Simon
