Gorgeous morning at the swim with some big waves rolling in and challenging conditions the whole way across the bay… and wasn’t it wonderful to see about 100 of us taking on the waves! This pic doesn’t quite do it justice…

My Brother James came down for his very first swim and came in 3rd. Definitely a future A Team member! He did win medals at Nationals when he was 17… so a few of us could be in a bit of trouble when he gets his fitness up!

Apparently these two were mistaken for being a couple on a night out in Manly yesterday. I honestly don’t know what would give people this impression.

The fabulously talented and delightfully wonderful Julia Baird celebrated her birthday down at the swim this morning. Now a parent must never show favouritism towards one child over another… but clearly she is still the apple of Bruce’s eye!

Finally another swimmer passed the 1000km mark this morning… and Hatless Dave enjoyed every moment of it! Well done…

Sterling and Dave are such a handsome couple. And so easy in each other’s company!
Happy Birthday Julia. Hope you have a great day.

Achieving 500 km was fun – by one’s own effort, yet everybody contributes – and what a day to get it. After all this time I still struggle with a big surf – but help was on the way when Rob virtually took me by the hand and stuck with me. In the end it was a Fairy Bower start on this auspicious day. Thank you Rob again and once more I want to say how much I appreciate the spirit of B&B swimmers – helping, celebrating and encouraging each other. These qualities of friendship exist in at least some part to our fearless leader and founder, Julie Isbil with – Meeting at the Point (very important) and then at Shelly and the clarion call “Let’s Go!” – all about safety and doing it together! Happy Birthday, Julia. Go Bold & Beautiful.

Nice work, Jenny and Dave. Nice to see Jenny Kent as swimmer of the day.
And an rollicking 7am double with two other intrepid swimmers this morning. Seems like we were in Cabbage Tree Bay for hours. Thanks for the company, Alanna and Carolyn H.

Thanks Anne & Jane, it was a challenging swim in a pretty big swell. As always it was the highlight of my day. So grateful to be able to participate in B & B with fantastic people.
