Not Our Finest Morning…

13/11/201413

Ok, let’s admit it, this morning was not our finest morning at the Bold and Beautiful. The majority of the time us bloggers can report on sunny, calm conditions… but today was a bit blurgh…

Still, bluebottles, wind chop and blustery conditions didn’t stop the A-team from emerging from the 6:30am swim, looking like something out of the sealed section of a glossy magazine…

Closer…

Closer…

Ohhhh too close!

Meanwhile what did the Spaniard think of todays conditions… afterall our mens Life Group (it’s a church thing) did over consume at Hugo’s last night, there were stingers in the water and he is a bit out of form?

So he went back to bed and Scotty and I went for a bodysurf while dodging the bluebottles.

Still, 55 swimmers enjoyed the 19.9 degree water and did the swim. Several got stung, but enjoyed the swim anyhow. Karel shows us a couple of his bites…

And to finish it was off to Havana Beach to discuss Russia’s impending invasion, the time Bruce voted for Gough and the merits of Sterling’s soon to be announced run for Mayor of Manly.

It turns out even on a day when the swim is not that inviting… you can still have a great morning at the Bold and Beautiful. Have a great day everyone!

Is that Sterlings intended mayoral attire? Suit jacket with board shorts? I approve. It captures the essence of both the serious governmental and corporate aspects of the role as well as being loudly representative of his constituency. Vote 1 Sterling! Does it matter he isn’t even a councillor?

Appreciate the honesty of this post!
Helpful to those deciding when to return to the water.

I chickened out … took the lead from another piker. We wandered streets looking at cafes – there were no bluebottles inside Interpolitan!

    Corrections:
    1. I did a survey of all those stung between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. and “enjoy” was not how most (any?) described their swims! It was the rest of us who enjoyed our swims.
    2. Bruce told me himself the other day that he had voted for Gough not once, but THREE times!!
    3. The far more interesting “finishing off” was at MW with Drinks discussing his pending hair salon sponsorship, how the 6.30s have now officially overtaken the 7.00s in the membership stakes and how Zip Fitness has become the latest hot spot for best-hugging news!

    Return, return, Spuddo….. always fun!
Wishing all those stung a speedy recovery – actually, should be recovered already and if not, you may be able to compete with Lesbubbs, Ann, Fi and others in the early morning war wounds accounts…..

In future follow me: I am an expert blue-bottle-spotter. First – I got all the up to date info from the 6.30 D_Expressers before I went in, where to go / which route etc… Then I swung wide almost to the bower and arrive at Shelly unstung. On the way back I spotted one lone Bluey but my keen eyes (as Lips will attest to) saw it just in time! ;-p
By the way Tim – i’m confused by this sentence in your blog “afterall our mens Life Group (it’s a church thing) did over consume at Hugo’s last night”…… the mention of church and alchohol in the same sentence? v confusing
    ;-p

I can attest to Lesbubbles’ truffel hog like abilities when it comes to locating bluebottles.
