Monday Mindful Meditations

October 25, 20210

Whether its just a mundane Monday or as one completes another rotation around the sun (Shameless birthday plug) it is only normal we reflect on the week/year that was and the week/year that is to be and many a mindful person know how important this simple exercise can be…but for most of the Bold swimming crew we know this to be a nearly daily practice (Depending on your swimming frequency)

The morning ritual in the water means our swimmers are mostly head down, arms turning over, leg kicking Zen monks with no distractions. No phone, no tv, no talking, no  laptop, no work. Just 18-40 minutes of pure mental clarity. Just you, some marine life and the wide open sea of your thoughts (and the blinding sunrise and dodging the A Team of course)

For some, its an opportunity to get their day in order, their shopping list refreshed, trying to remember who’s coffee round it is, guessing when Salt Joy be screened, or if its Thai or Mexican tonight.

For others its a far more deeper, personal and even spiritual experience as they work through their thoughts, set their intention for the week and work on strengthening a new construct.

So what do you think about when you’re under the water for those  1200m (Direct route) or 1500m (Scenic coast hugging)? Whatever it is its usually only ever beneficial and leaves us feeling lighter, with more direction, and more energy to power through the day. So what are you waiting for? GET IIIIIIN SON

Have a great week all!

Winter Badge Collection 2021

The Winter badges are finally on their way! Congratulations to all those who completed their Covid-19 winter swimming challenge. As more than 500 swimmers qualified, the badge distribution this year will initially be via snail mail to maintain a Covid-safe environment for our volunteers. Unfortunately, only virtual handshakes and hugs from Ian, John, Anne and Pauline and contact-less distribution.
There are two ways you can obtain your badge(s)

  • Method 1. Inside a self-addressed, stamped envelope place cash for your badge/s – $10 per badge for the Winter Badge (if you completed 20 swims over winter) and an extra $10 for the WWW Badge if you did those swims without a wetsuit. Family members/friends sharing an envelope must clearly name each swimmer and badgeachieved. Please check postage rates and size of envelope required for multiple badges. Post this envelope in another envelope to Ian Forster, 6 Bligh St, Northbridge. 2063.
  • Method 2Wait until Covid restrictions on gathering are relaxed. We will then arrange a time for you to collect your badges from us in person. No promises when this will be but it may be when the vaccination rate reaches 80%.

Badges will be posted as soon as they arrive. If you have any other badges that you are missing and wish to purchase, please include cash for those as well.
