First impressions, nothing unusual , nice sunrise, lowish tide.
Booty camp, all hard at it, Natalie was being encouraged by Storchy.
Sterling said, “ït’s 6.30”. Even the the Bishop was early. Only 6 for the Drinks express, Drinky was nowhere to be seen.
Sophie , sans wetsuit, said, “get it off”.
At the sight of bluebottles on the sand, the Bishop said, “no way” and then there were 5.
Sterling & ? Joe caught the north bound rip and missed the point, and then there were 3.
Sophie, Becky and Nick made it through the white water rips and multiple sets to the point, well done guys.
Fifi and Sam tried to get out at 6am but returned to the beach and opted for a half way swim
At 7am John decreed that “half way beach “was the only option
Hi Rainer and Lesley, thanks again for yesterday’s blog. If anyone is in need of some laughing medicine check it out.
At half way beach, aka Fairy Bower, John and Mary checked for Blueys
Lainey conducted the Let’s go
Libby arrived at Shelly well ahead of the pack
Derrick took this huddle shot to prove that Robin also swims on Mondays
Nick was the only one from the Drinks express to survive the full Manly Shelly return swim, well done Nick!!
Nick said the return leg was a snap, with the current, so Richard and I came back from Shelly to the beach curtesy of a giant wave ride from the point.
Thanks Maurcio for today’s underwater shots.

Monthly Dinner – Special Guest Speaker
Bluewater Restaurant – Tuesday 14 October at 6.30 pm
October’s monthly dinner features one of our swimmers, Penny Berents, who is a marine biologist and currently a Senior Fellow at the Australian Museum Research Institute. Penny has been swimming and diving in Sydney waters for more than 40 years. Her talk will focus on the animals of Cabbage Tree Bay, both those that we see on our swims and the smaller more cryptic beasties that we don’t see but are important in the ecosystems of the Bay.
Usual deal: Dinner is only $20 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option), corkage (for byo wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please BOOK HERE NOW
We have a half price deal for BnB swimmers who want to visit the Freshwater Wellness Community Festival at Harbord Diggers on Sunday 19th of Oct from 10am. For more info and half price tickets go here:

I have really picked up my photobombing game you know…been trained by the finest.
Though I was worried that through osmosis I was absorbing Rainer-behaviour which is rather a worry. If he starts growling about crowds and wetsuits and parking, you know this could well be the case.

Recent Newbies may not be aware that we have a good mutual relationship with the Australian Museum through the images and information that our wonderful B&B photographers send in. Have a look at this , posted by Mandy Reid, Cephalopod expert:

I noticed it too Fi! Last night I woke up with this uncontrollable anger at the Abbott government. I felt like organizing a protest march. At 2am!!! That’s not like me at all.
What’s happening to us??
