The group seemed smaller and slower than yesterday, maybe everyone was sleeping in after AFL final day or forgetting about the clocks moving forward one hour? Eventually people arrived and gathered around their trees and spots for a chat pre swim. I caught up with two lovely medicos who swim with us: Dr John and Craig
This is Drew, not a newbie but not a regular as he lives interstate. He swam with the A team today and slipped past them all, except Matt who was first back to Manly . Drew is competing in the Coolangatta Gold Ironman Series and trained with a Manly Ironman Squad of three champions yesterday. All at 16 years old, also a relative of the Forsters, the management ones. Good luck in Coolangatta Drew 🙂
Karen is back from Greece, what a trip they had! She’s braving the cold waters after the balmy temps of the Mediterranean.
I”m not sure of the attendance number but a fair number turned up to brave the waters. Recorded temp was 17.1 but I was freezing afterwards, took way too long to complete my swim today.
I found a sleepy wobbegong at halfway and some fish scooting away from me
I swam back with Lizzy Stewart and Belinda Wightley, thanks girls for the chats and giggles.
Anne is trying to improve her post swim hair do here with Elizabeth doing her bit to help!
Lots of people warming up on the wall
Inge is back from her 5 month trip overseas, can’t wait to hear all about that one day. Welcome back Inge.
Breakfast at Havana’s capped off a lovely morning
Dont think there were any newbies today.
Monthly Dinner – 10th October 2017 – Guest Speak
The next B&B monthly dinner will be held on Tuesday 10th October at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker on the night will be one of our regular swimmers, John Bryan, whose talk is entitled “Life after the Tsunami”
John has travelled widely in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese. He will talk about how the Japanese are re-estabishing coastal communities in North East Japan, and how the Tohoku people are handling life after the tsunami (now 6yrs ago), and protecting and rebuilding their towns.
The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.
have a great week everyone.
ciao-edwina.

YIkes!! Technical glitch.
Looks like today’s swim logs are being applied to 30 September.
Remain calm. We’ll get the behind-the-scenes experts onto it.
