This morning greeted me with that unmistakable Bold and the Beautiful energy — crisp air that wakes you from the inside out, and an ocean so flat it looked as though someone had ironed it smooth overnight. Even though I wasn’t planning on swimming, there was something grounding about pulling on my winter gear and simply being present.
Despite a restless night’s sleep, it never ceases to amaze me how simply arriving at the beach can shift everything. There’s a quiet rejuvenation for the soul in the rhythm of these mornings — in the way the ocean, the people, and the gentle currents of community seem to meet you exactly where you are.
You can walk in carrying heaviness or distraction, and almost without noticing, you leave lighter — a spontaneous conversation, an unexpected laugh, a moment of shared humanity adding colour back into your day.
And then there’s the funny, inevitable moment — the days I come down without my swimmers on. Every time, I wonder why. Pulling on my speedo uniform has become part of the morning rhythm, almost instinctual.
So, of course, I plan to head back home to change, because who would want to miss a swim when the ocean is offering a champagne bay? That sparkling, glassy surface seems to call you by name, impossible to resist.
Even sitting here now in my winter activewear, I feel a surge of excitement. Summer is upon us, and with it come the vibrant, joyful mornings that this community brings.
I look forward to celebrating, reminiscing, and reflecting on the year that was — to sharing laughter, stories, and quiet moments of connection with this incredible group of people — and preparing, with a sense of anticipation, for what 2026 will bring.
