“Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadows”

was the wise advice I was given after I devoured a tasty fortune cookie last night. ( It should have read…please rotate your camera before taking this pic! ) 

The fortune’s of cookies don’t always grab my thoughts and attention, but this one did. It instantly reminded me of our glorious swim and I couldn’t wait to capture the sunlit faces this morning down at the beach. [ Faces pictured below :)] 

Today’s conditions were lovely.

A few fun rolling waves to get out to the point and a calm swim over to Shelly! The water was warm..devoid of any nasty things like blueys or lice or “shadows” and the vis was better then I expected out the middle of the bay. A perfect day to lift your head and soak up those morning rays. 

Enjoy your day and don’t forget to embrace the light.

New Swimmers sign-up, Caps and Badges

On Sunday 24^th January your B&B volunteer helpers will be at the benches (100 m north of the surf club, weather permitting) from 8 am until 9 am with a sign-up sheet for anyone who wants to sign up and start logging their swims. Remember, to be eligible for the Summer Badges, you will need to log your swims. Any new swimmers who have started swimming over the summer period are invited to sign up and get their free B&B latex cap.

In addition, we will have a supply of this year’s winter badges for sale (Covid Challenge and Ice Cold Corona) at $10 each. We will also have the following items:

·         summer badges (triple, 6 km, 10 km), distance badges (500 km, 1000 km, 2000 km) and assorted past badges – $10 each (cash only please bring the correct money)

·         silicone swimming caps ready for winter – $15 each  (cash only please bring the correct money)

·         latex caps (free) if you have broken/lost yours or have friends/family who have just started swimming
