Its another regular Saturday with a beautiful sunrise , plenty of swimmers ( some old some new) and a relatively calm bay compared to the last week.
There were 23 new swimmers today, here is Theresa with her beautiful baby. Hubby babysat while she did her first venture in the bay. Hopefully she’ll be back, a perfect exercise to balance out the hectic lifestyle a newborn brings to the household.
Before you knew it more and more people arrived. While old friends caught up now the weekends here.
I entered the water with Elizabeth and enjoyed a chin wag as we tried to adjust to the lowering temperature, 21 degrees! Winter is not far away and fingers crossed it’s a mild one.
Then I turned around and felt like 500 people were charging towards me. In reality 317 total today turned up. I lost Elizabeth quickly and had a paddle around the scenic route today.
I found Jane at the point who’s now swimming without flippers, let’s see if I can convince her to use goggles and breathe bilaterally.
I had the pleasure of seeing Murray and friends swimming scenically too. They were looking for the turtle and enjoying all the fish around us before it became a bit bumpy.
The boys posed for a photo but all the splashing might have ruined faces . That’s the fun part of the swim for me. I can swim alone but still bump into people on and off. Rarely do I swim a full lap with the same person.
Only a few fish seen by me today, some are too quick and I only did a half swim. There are some beautiful tropical looking fish around at the moment. Keep your eyes peeled.
Dog of the day belongs to midge , who regularly feeds any dog bits of Devon . She’s a favourite amongst the canines of manly.
I went to meet friends at little manly after my swim and quick breakfast. What a beautiful spot for a walk or swim.
There’s a Friday night meet up starting this Friday for anyone keen to meet up and socialise with clothes on and swimmers off!
The bar is North on North Steyne. Next door to Hemingway’s above Skater HQ. they are doing a BnB happy hour from 5-7 on Friday nights. $5 beers and wines. It is a large space with balcony overlooking the beach.
happy Saturday everyone,
edwina.

That first shot is divine – sunrise looking like the horizon cracking open. It was a lovely swim. I am tired of the smoke from the back burning and hope it is scientifically proven to be worthwhile

I wondered exactly the same thing yesterday.
