Just a perfect day

06/05/20178

Good morning from the Saturday blog. When I opened the curtains early this morning to let the light in, it was pitch dark! Winter is coming, but today we were blessed with another perfect Autumn morning. While not quite as amazing as the past week or so, the water clarity was still good enough to allow us to see the ocean floor pretty much all the way to Shelley. Unfortunately there was lots of plastic both in the water and on the shore at Shelley. I like to take it out of the water so that our fishy friends don’t eat it by mistake, but several times I had to look closely to work out if it was a sea creature of a piece of plastic.

Dusky spotters may have been disappointed today, and the word is that all the press they’ve been getting has gone to their heads. Still, there was a plethora of marine creatures for us to view and be amazed by. Plenty of yellowtail, gropers, LSTs (little stripey things), morwongs, various wrasse, some angel fish and for the lucky few, a shy giant cuttlefish. And a dusky whaler.

Words cannot do justice to today’s sunrise.

The Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad doesn’t happen by itself. Here are some of the people who keep this well oiled machine running

This is Paddy, one of today’s newbies. Welcome Paddy, hope you enjoyed your swim.

Say no more!

And now for the main event

Patiently waiting for the let’s go

And we’re off!

A breather, a chat and more fun at Shelley

Georgina and Monica (2  HOWs Hotties Of the Wall) relaxing on their wall in the sun after a Boulder Dash with Mr Bond

Tony’s friends staged an intervention on account of him missing the swim 2 weeks in a row. Name and Shame. Barry the Beagle is disappointed and rightly so.

A management-approved message –

My name is Tim Slessor and I’m a long time Bold and Beautiful swimmer.

Today I’m taking part in the 2017 Sydney MS 24 Hour Mega Swim

Why am I taking part in this event?

Aside from looking forward to joining others in the fun and atmosphere on the day, I’m taking part to raise funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis.

I won’t give you the whole blurb but I would really appreciate it if you could support me in the swim today.

Here’s the link, and thank you.
