It’s Christmas Day!

25/12/20250

Today is Christmas Day, the day Christians celebrate the miraculous birth of Jesus, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies and affirming the Christian belief that Jesus’s birth signifies God becoming human (incarnation) to offer salvation from sin. A big job, that. Whatever your beliefs, it’s impossible to escape the joy of this festival regardless of how you celebrate. Are shiny objects, gift giving, volunteering at charity kitchens any less valid ways to celebrate than going to church?

Anyway, happy Christmas to all of us.

The Christmas and Summer Solstice energy was at an all time high despite the cloudy morning.

Deb and friends and a very awesome t shirt

Lots and lots of swimmers at the 7am

Christmas onsies

Marion

The very attractive Taylor family with an equally attractive Santa

Charlie with his Mum

Billie or Basil trying to get some Christmas peace

Yesterday I swam to Shelly with Marion who was greatly enjoying playing with her brand new TG-7 camera. We had such fun that we did not hear the shark alarm, but a vigilant lifeguard alerted us and we got a ride back to shore

But now, a tragedy Last week we saw 4 so called friends at the Point appearing to be having fun. But appearances can be deceptive and fortunately I managed to get more photos that told the true story. What kind of friends would find humour in watching one of their own slowly sink? Look at them laughing!!! Heartless, heartless!

Rescue was at hand but alas the ship arrived too late (leave a comment if you get this reference).

And now for some Christmas music. Spoiled for choice. Could have gone Aussie with Tim MIchnin’s white wine or Paul Kelly’s gravy or original Britsh punks the Kinks and their Father Christmas song but am picking this instead.I learned it in my piano class but this is definitely not me murdering it.

Have a wonderful Christmas Day full of family fun and guilt-free excess.
