It’s a whale day!!!! Almost…

17/07/20146

Good morning beach truck.

Good morning Sophie and Sterling.

All the talk this morning amongst the 67 swimmers was…

Brace yourself, it is going to be cold in the 16.7 degree water…

And keep your eyes peeled… because a whale has been spotted off the point!!

But alas, no whale could be found by the time we had swum out to the middle of cabbage patch bay.

Post swim, Scrappy Scotty (who swam with the whale last time) consoled us by offering us his bottle of hot water.

It was a tight race back today. Dreamboat Dave led early (after jumping the lets go), and then 4 swimmers settled into a line across the bay. Simon made his move early crossing in front of myself, Sophie and Sterling (all the while Scrappy sitting on our feet)…. but he went too early. Sterling ‘scroll back’ Brain made the next move, bursting with excitement over what could have been his first ever win. He stretched his lead out to a body length… but alas… he feel away in sight of the finish line, allowing the Bishop to narrowly cruise to victory!

Well, have a great day and remember we do life better when we do it together…

Love, the Bishop.

The video replay clearly shows Sophie & I on that wave so I was first to touch the beach.
Have you moved the finish line again without telling us?

If I remember correctly (back on THE whale day) it was scrappy Scotty who dove down very deep to retrieve Jules’ camera when she dropped it in shock! It was dark and gloomy and he managed to find it and I am pretty sure he went down 8 metres or more!
    what a legend!!

Yes, that was almost the most incredible part of the whole morning when the camera (which couldn’t be seen) was found…
Simon, I think it’s Blogger’s prerogative to move the finish line and add his own happy ending. We all know you really won:)

What a fabulous sign off photo! Please though, in addition to the results of the swim race, give us details of the secrets of how to swim fast.

There is that gorgeous baby again! And I STILL haven’t had the promised cuddle. Trouble is, by the time I get back to he beach all the superswimmers have gone home, taking their babies with them 😩
