It’s a dog’s life!

04/09/20250

Earlier in  the morning it seemed we almost had Lake Manly back. Small waves but definitely some water movementn not really discernible in this photo. The sun filtering through the soft high clouds giving a soft and subtle vibe.

Hopefully the small waves are bringing the sand back. Only a few days ago several foundations from the old surf club buildings were visible but today I could only see one.

Dolphins? Ian saw a fin while he was swimming and hoped it was a dolphin. Fortunately it was (not my photo)

The water wasn’t all that clear, but I liked the moody effect the milkiness gave to this lovely Groper

I was inspired by a freediver at the start of my swim who was collecting rubbish off the ocean floor and decided to follow suit.

This tiny piece of aluminium foil looked like a good start but it seemed quite active for a piece of garbage and turned out to be a tiny fish

This coral is spreading along the rocks between the Point and the yellow shed. It’s called Pocillopora Aliciae

Several swimmers saw Cuttlefish today. This one looks virginally healthy. Seems it’s choosing life

If you’re wondering about the title of today’s post, wonder no more! Many of the B&B members’ canine companions are known and loved. They are friendly and well behaved and seem to enjoy the human interactions. The four legged stars of today’s blog are Chop Chop and Chilli who are both very sweet and have lots of human friends.

For the people who are far away from our gorgeous swimming spot, here is a photo of what I saw last weekend. A big school of Diamond fish was swimming around me very close to the surface, unusually close. Odd behaviour, and I figured something might be chasing them. Turned out it was a cormorant hoping for breakfast, and I got some extremely lucky shots of it. The first is an unedited original and the second (different photo) has had an anime filter added, something I only recently discovered on FB Messenger

That’s it for today, have a good one folks.
