In a word, stunning

16/01/20212

I walked past Roz pre swim this morning (me pre, she post) and she said the swim was amazing today

Here she is exuding the Vitamin Sea glow

From the shoreline, things did look and feel pretty fine – bright sunshine, the SSW breeze imparting the hint of (dare I say it?)  pre-autumnal crispness

I’ll get the obligatory dog photo out of the way early. Here is Freddy looking pensive

The water did look lovely, don’t you agree?

A couple of swim shots

And now, what lies beneath

Today is a Small Fish Day

The Boss was home but s/he was quite a way under the shell so I couldn’t get a great shot

I was reading about octopuses this week and learned a few interesting things, one being about what happens to females after they have laid eggs. Octopuses are short-lived, typically around for just one to two years. They are  semelparous, which means they reproduce just once before they die. With female octopuses, once she’s laid her eggs, that’s it. Scientists have figured figured out why this happens. It has to do with the optic gland between the octopus’s eyes; a gland similar to the pituitary gland in humans. For more information here is the link to the article I read.

Mullet were everwhere

Groper and friends

The brilliant markings and colours of the Maori Wrasse

What am I listening to? Right now, an interview with drummer extraordinaire Vinnie Colaita but won;t inflict this on you. The track I’m sharing has a bit of a marine theme, here you go.
