As the temperature falls
The morning sun crawls

Winter Without Wetsuit
Will we all partake?

Pass up the neoprene
Before it’s too late

For once my courage stands
I will with all my might

Knowing my ugg boots wait
To warm my cold feet just right

Early arrivals (pre 615am) watching first light from the wall

Winter waters (almost). 18.3C today. Is this the lowest temp so far this year? Must ask Guy.

Pitch Report
I didn’t know what to expect today – Sarah from Sales is having a much-earnt break after working so hard to get us into the water. 630am, the Drinks Express call went out. My first step and I fell into a dip between the banks up to my shoulders. A fast welcome to the chilly waters.
Visibilty was average across the bay. Swimming 20 minutes before the sun comes up probably doesn’t help. It could be better once the sun is up?
Greeted by milky water filled with weed at Shelly (and some rubbish – remember to take 3 from the sea!).

Here are some photos from my trip last week to Lady Elliot Island.
This tiny island is full of amazing marine life – it is a good reminder that the ocean is in constant balance and what we do here also affects this tiny island which is over 1000km away.

If you ever want an island holiday – Lady Elliot is amazing.

my favourite moment, swimming with a 1.5m loggerhead turtle

Rusty is on holiday and he usually has a tagline but I can’t remember what it is (oops… don’t tell him)
