How big a risk taker are you …

10/03/20218

After a fascinating and thought provoking BnB dinner last night where Simon Phin (aka Trooper) spoke on why we take risks and how we manage them from oil rigs to the swim,  I asked swimmers today how they rated themselves as risk takers.

Fingerbone and the Driver (James and Chris to others) here. Despite the body language it’s James who who likes taking risks but manages them within his competency. Great words of advice !

The crew above are risk averse they say and celebrating Michelle (in pink) 500 k today. Awesome and well done Michelle. Photobomb by big risk taker Shanny!

Kellie, Hels, Alistair , Lisa’s son (on hols from London), Lisa, and Lou show their appetite for risk  with Kellie running out of space to show how big a risk she likes to takes ! Go Kellie.

Medium risker Simon (aka Radox) sandwiched between two big risk takers Shanny and Jonny (aka Manus). Body language suggested slippers and cocoa 🙂

Charl was more worried about the risk of missing his coffee order but posed for a quick pic with his father lovely Justus and Lyndal on the Saffer bench.

These guys misheard the question … but went big :). No surprises here. Michael and Ian in the naughty corner.

Bindi heard dog treats and risked a tangle in my swim bag. I’d say a risk worth taking for a kelpie. Well done Bindi.

Lovely Luke Lifesaver ( has a certain ring to it) says the risk is small today and we should all be safe.

The scene that greeted me today as I arrived on the beach and assessed my swim risk. One of those happy days  ( I love it flat being a little risk averse) except for the pesky sea lice.

All for today have a good one everyone

Di

Apposite and amusing, thanks Di. I like Lou’s considered measurement of her risk profile, in deference to her mother no doubt.
