House Every Weekend…and not the lockdown version
Music is synonymous, symbiotic almost, with the ocean. Today, during our brief stop at Shelly, Scott asked what goes through our mind as we traversed the bay, and today it was one of my favourite songs on repeat. House Every Weekend.
The meditative cruise that is the Bold can catch us drifting, singing to ourselves, and suddenly we at Shelly or back at Manly without even realising, having been lost in our mental metronome.
It got me thinking about all the links that music and the ocean have. From Mr Probz’ song ‘Waves’ to Billy Eilish’s ‘Ocean Eyes’, ocean inspiration can be found in music everywhere. Two of Disney’s most popular films are set in and around the ocean; Moana and The Little Mermaid. Everything is better down where it’s wetter, just take it from me…
So next time you find yourself swimming and singing, singing and swimming, know that you are in the good company of many others who let music carry them across the bay.
Scott’s favourite genre? Rock
