Good Morning!

November 10, 20184

Today I parked up the road and was met by a beautiful setting where the sun had already risen, people were well and truly up and exercising, and some were contemplating the scene as a long night had finished perhaps.

The conditions this week have been great for swimming and snorkelling and now the water is warming up, numbers are increasing and summer is making it’s mark. People are clocking up their kilometres for whatever event they’re training for and lingering around the club afterwards for warm chat sessions in the sun.
Dave and Martin were just two of the newbies starting today:

Today we had two celebrations for a tunnel, Brian and Dave who are both musically inclined, reached their respective 1000km and 500km milestones. Margot and Melissa were keen to join in and help organise a tunnel for afterwards.

Here are the boys with Terry after the tunnel :

Some people were camera shy today, and declined to have a pic taken, and others were happy to just hang and smile for me:

Not too many waves today, still a bit of seaweed ( I pulled out my three pieces of plastic today #take3forthesea) and warm enough to almost just jump right in.

This guy deserves a special mention. I”ve photographed him before for his artistic tatts, and today I noticed his cupping marks. Cupping is a wonderful treatment for muscle tension also used  with myotherapy, more common in Victoria than NSW. Then JP informed me he’s a sprint swimmer, and holds the record for entering more Olympic trials than any other Australian. Pat on the back to you John Bates:

At the end of my swim I came across a gorgeous Wobbegong swimming under me at the point. The markings almost look like butterflies.

Anne took some lovely fish photos, groper with crimson wrasse and then a school of diamond fish:

I got to hug Sir Laurens after the swim to warm up, he’s so non plussed and almost as big as a human.

Hope you all have a lovely day, stay safe and happy,
Edwina
stats :
 375 swimmers
13 newbies
19.8 degrees
