It was a cold morning today but the water temp was recorded as 17.9 which is a pleasant increase from yesterday. Anything to entice me to undress and swim in winter, I could have slept in today but glad I pushed past the snooze button and turned up.
Super sunrise as per usual:
I discovered some pregnant ladies today not far off giving birth, Bianca on the left is 38 weeks, and Kristy on the right is 35 weeks. Both girls making the most of our local public and private hospital systems .
I asked the early boys what the conditions were like, can’t repeat it here really, but it gave me motivation to get in soon. Danny and Alex all smiles
Kit and Jaimee were squealing with delight as they entered the water
I arrived at Shelley just as everyone started the return leg, eek!
Some shenanigans for those who don’t race back to Manly
I love a Port Jackson
Speaking of sharks, Pete was dressed like it’s summer today, and happy to show me his war wounds from the shark encounter. Roger’s hand crept into the photo somehow…
Sid and Michael are back swimming, nice to see them both after long abscences.
notices below, have a lovely weekend everyone.
stats: 300 swimmers, 3 newbies and temp 17.9
Next B&B Dinner (I’ve seen Duncan’s talk and its excellent…)
The Next B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 13th August at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Our guest on the night will be B&B Swimmer, Duncan Young, who is the head of health and wellbeing for Lendlease. The title of Duncan’s talk will be ‘Does the ideas of living to 100 excite you or fill you with dread?’ He will speak about ‘living and working in the age of longevity’, what can we learn from super-agers about elongating our healthy lifespans? Don’t miss this very interesting presentation.
Please book early for this event as it is sure to be popular. The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential.
