Friday I’m in Love

April 16, 20213

Monday you can fall apart. Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart. Oh, Thursday doesn’t even start. It’s Friday, I’m in love. Lake Manly beckoned us early today, supreme viz (mostly), cuttlefish, a plethora of duskys, a floating orange, slightly cooling water.

Strolled round to Shelley early, Capless walking the dog, first time at Manly I’ve seen a dog light on a dog! 5.30am swimmers flashing red & green heading north, dodging the early gutter fisherman. Two girls taking photos of a floating orange in the halfway pool. Yes it’s early. Maybe the photo will pop up on Caroline Giardina’s Instagram today?

Half way saw Dazz and David heading out to the motorbike. Ok here’s goes how to find – line up the big rock back of beach with square rock, and cross conangulate to white building at halfway, maybe with the tree (yeah I know I sort of lost it in translation). Anyway it’s about 20-30m off bower, should be clear today in the viz and low tide. Or next to the yacht.

Rusty & Chippo’s pitch report.

6.17am sunrise another pancake flat day. A fresh offshore breeze, water temp 21ish online, but the chalkies are on their game early 19.4. Maybe we need to start measuring at the point? 40% chance of rain, have to be clouds for that stuff not happening. Mick Fanning may be swimming with us today, not much chance of the Narrabeen Surf comp going ahead.

I don’t wanna holiday in the sun, I wanna go to the new Belsen

Got a bit chilly at Shelley, turn around. A dusky cruised past in the shallows about 5 metres off.

And there was a cuttlefish, just under TFS’s very muscular frame, yeah I know hard to see, they are the masters of camouflage you know (or else I wobbled a bit).

Blogger extraordinaire Elizabeth pretty in pink stripes.

Proud Hamish, 6th in National butterfly off to the Olympic trials, well done legend.

Kate is now a permanent resident Yeah!! Great celebration ladies.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Rush hour

And now for a quick Duck Duck Goose game.

A Master of the Universe is not necessarily a Master of the wardrobe:

Sorry for the delayed blog, Gerry’s stuff got a bit crazy. Thanks for the swim Team. A brilliant day.

Over and out, Rusty the Fish, Chippo the Woodchuck, with special artistic touches by Mel.
