At 6.05 a.m. a bright, white moon breaks through darkish clouds. Small yacht Tardis (name looks handwritten) is back on the Cabbage Tree. It has a surfboard on the roof, and stand-up board strapped to siderail. There could be true adventurers on-board?
The above sign says NO to dogs, but I find Shane doing perfect dog-downs pre-swim. He is super flexible!

Has Storchy’s hard crew gone soft (boiled)?

These jeans went to Wilf’s 80th party on Tuesday night, and had an enjoyable evening out. It was a super gathering upstairs at The Steyne … I reckon Wilf is an inspiration. If you think these pants are interesting, wait until you see all the various kits and clobber on Karaoke night! (And no; that is NOT my hand.)

Andrew and Paul head out with the 6.30s …

Bolds swimmer Craig Mellis received an AM (Member of the Order) on Australia Day … for services to medicine (Paediatrics, child health research and teaching). You may not know that his son is Scrappy Scotty the A-Teamer. Rob Hawkins says this ‘A.M.’ has been awarded to Craig for getting up early in the mornings to go swimming. Well done, Professor Mellis!

Manly Fairlight Group‘s cubs and scouts went dusk and night-snorkeling at Shelly on Wednesday evening. Bolds swimmer Gab Stokes has become a cub leader with the group … good work, Gab!

Click on link for this neat little video of a Shelly area wobbegong, by scout leader John Havranek. Shark seems to have ‘fake’ white eyes. Watch how it drops to ground at new possie. Good soundtrack too

Come on Manly Bolds, “Let’s Go!” – Come on!

Do you wanna put your goggles on, oh yeah?
Do you wanna be in my gang, my gang, my gang?
Do you wanna be the one who sang?
“I’m the leader, I’m the leader, fastest swimmer of the gang, I am
I’m the leader – check my budgies – there’s no one like the man I am
I can take you high as a kite on Karaoke night
I can make you jump out of bed standing on my head”
Etc

B&B and REDFEB Heart Research 2015

REDFEB is Heart Research Australia‘s signature fundraising campaign, raising funds for research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. They approach sporting groups across Australia, and ask them to log kilometres travelled onto a virtual map. This year they have several Aussie maps: for cyclists, joggers, swimmers etc – with the mileage circumnavigating the land mass.
B&B will again be assisting this cause in 2015 by participating in the virtual REDFEB Relay and helping to lap the map of Australia! Last year in February our Bolds swam over 8,700 km and raised $2,200. Our aim this year will be to beat that figure. After last February’s 8700 km and $2200, our aim this year will be to raise over $3,000. To view our B&B team page CLICK HERE
You can donate funds on the team page, or even better, you can create your own page where all your friends can donate towards the cause. To create your own page and join the B&B team, just go to the team page and simply click “join”. You will then be taken through the steps to create your own page. On your own page you can input your kilometres and also raise funds. All funds raised on individual pages will accumulate to the B&B team total. Ian Forster has already raised well over $500, and the month is only six days old. Thank goodness I’m not sponsoring Brendan Maher!
To highlight the fundraising, B&B will be going RED on
Valentine’s Day – Saturday 14th February
when we will be swapping our pink caps for RED ones. This year, the Manly Beach Health Club has joined us and is sponsoring the red caps.
Freebie Bonus
To help with your heart health, Manly Beach Health Club is also offering B&B members a free 30 min Personal Training session. To find out how to take advantage of this offer, go to

I’m more impressed by Shane’s flat gut! Downward dog is notorious for making stomach look bigger than it is!

OK: Fifi’s exhibition – ‘Still Lives’ is on until the 16th Feb with hours 10-4 for Thurs To Sun
The opening gig is tmrw avo 3-6. There will be some nibbles and drinks and a ukelele band. Sounds good! The location is the Warringah Creative Space which is on Abbott Rd North Curl Curl. Its closer to the Harbord Rd end of Abbott Rd and on the playing field side of the street. Its a lovely location with gallery & garden. Just perfect for a Sat summer avo soiree. Shld be a fun avo and a few pieces have already sold so get in quick or risk missing out.

Hi Patricia, we are leaving with the normal (term used loosely) BnB group at 7:00 am ….. I believe the group does the normal swim and then swims on to Queenscliff and beyond, to create the 6 km.
