Friday 6 January 2016 Different all day everyday

January 6, 201710

This blog was brought to you by me because of the kindness of swimmers. I took lovely swimmer photos including some new swimmers and one young swimmer training for the 2km Cole Classic but i lost my camera in the swim to Shelly Beach. I was concentrating on my elbows and was pleased with the result of that but no photos.

There was a bit of rain and some rolling waves under a cloudy sky

If you find a red Olympus camera TG4 with my photos on the sd card inside please hand it in. I would appreciate it a lot.

Luckily Nat took some photos:

I don’t know who this is but look at the good body roll. Hours of you tube watching and workshops has taught me that swimming flat is no good

Excellent Fiona.

Various dudes (intended as gender neutral ) at Shelly

The lovely Lips Rainer at Shelly.

Waiting for the Let’s Go

Dramatic conditions but warm lovely swim

Look at that elbow. Poetry

Reading – what I should have been reading is how to clip your new camera to your swimmers but I have actually been reading a low brow crime fiction book by Tami Hoag.

I always eat when I am sad so luckily there is a cake stall I can buy up big at tomorrow:

CAKE STALL to raise funds for Women’s Hospital in Nepal
After talking to Dr Ray Hodgson who swims with us and operates A4WH which helps women in Nepal who have experienced prolapse, Roz and I thought it would be lovely to hold a cake stall and try and raise funds for the hospital they are trying to build in remote Nepal. It will be this Saturday 7th Jan after the swim between 7.30 and 9.30am. Please bake a cake, slice, frittata or bring along something we can sell! Also all swimmers please bring along some dollars to support this amazing cause. Thank you so much in advance. PS – Happy Christmas to the Macedonian Orthodox Church followers (my family) who celebrate Christmas on 7th January because they are still on the Julian calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar like a lot of the rest of Christendom. Negotiations to change are under way but no need to rush; the Gregorian was adopted by most in 1580s. No gifts exchanged, no Santa but a family feast – yes more eating and high elbow action of a different kind.

Super blog Elizabeth (as always – by the way), plus hoping that your camera makes it safely to shore. Plus you have inspired me to do a bit of you tube swim training – ta

Elizabeth, the Julian calendar introduced by Julius Caesar loses too many days. You can’t afford to stick to it otherwise you won’t climb up the Pacific Challenge as fast! Great blog, as you can see it piqued my interest.

Elizabeth, I’m sorry that our random searching between the beach and the point didn’t unearth your camera.
How wonderful to have two Christmases. Enjoy your special one tomorrow. For those of us on the Gregorian calendar, today is twelfth night and time to take down the Christmas decorations.

So hope it turns up Elizabeth. Well done for still managing a fine blog with Nat’s help too. CAKE STALL tomorrow or better still buy a brick for the new hospital by clicking on the link above.

I think it was Stephen Coulter who was so clever and diving down and finding Jules’s camera when she dropped in whilst we were whale-gazing. Give him a nudge. Also give Storchy a big nudge – he’s really good at diving down and checking out sea-bed objects when he’s not causing trouble surprising swimmers:-) Good luck!
Enjoy your feast and thanks for all your lovely blogs. Our Christmas feasts seem to have been going on ever since we got back to Hong Kong and that’s all just a warm-up for Chinese New Year round the corner!
