Friday 28 April 2017 Fabulous swimming conditions

28/04/201712

What a difference a day makes indeed. the conditions were warm (although the breeze is getting a bit of chill in it) and the water was very clear. I read about the dip below 20 degrees yesterday and it gave me pause but what a fabulous swim today. If only the traffic would stay off the road for me like it did for Mr Pence then I would not arrive so late! It makes me think of a move to Manly and not of a big concrete road or tunnel or both though.

I was grateful today that I am an invisible middle aged woman. While the lycra was holding up well, the zip on my swim suit burst but no one noticed. Phew. There was so much to focus on in the swim

look at these swimmers!!!

Baton change between early and 7 am swimmers

with the smaller numbers and the chill I cant make it to Shelly for photos or people will turn blue so my photos are only of doublers etc. Quality instead of quantity

Ian’s cap does need replacing

Invisibility has its advantages. If it’s any consolation you are visible to other middle aged women.
Not a problem Kit will be having with those funky trunks.
Very jealous reading today’s blog and not having swum in such conditions. Thanks for ruining my day…

Fabulous conditions indeed – the clearest swim for the last couple of months we’ve been here!
I came back from a full swim the other day to find I hadn’t done up my zip on my ‘racing’ swimsuit – people probably think it’s a new fashion we’re setting E1!
I think Ian’s hanging on to his cap as a blog-tarting strategy – he’s getting daily coverage and comments about it! A bit like how Lips’ old rashie was used for the same effect!

yes, today’s water was crystal clear. If I had a camera I could have shown you all a 300 mm bream eating a long strand of sea grass and a 450 mm catfish with another fish rubbing against it all before I got out to the point.
The sun with lack of wind was a lovely bonus.
Elizabeth, I had a swim beside you and noted your good looking stroking. Keep it up,
