Friday 26th: The Magnificent Seven

26/06/201518

Clair and Shaun cotton-on to the rising sun …

Solstice Complaints file
“It was too dark to see anything.”
“How come two were allowed to swim in wetsuits?”
“We got an emailed complaint about the noise at Shelly Beach.”
“No-one told me Annie Larkin was going to do it.”
“It was too cold for me to swim without my wetsuit.”

Responding to last objection (by Peter Ley), a Sunny Bench sub-group has designed this Solstice-Compliant wetsuit for 2016.

Undies on Mundys:  If you lost your solstice smalls, perhaps “Go ask Alice.  I think she’ll know”

He’s always got your back.  Whose back is this?

Rob, Caroline, Dave and Sally – off to Bench Cafe after today’s swim.  Caroline has many dozen of colourful swimsuits at home …

Wealths of knowledge: Trivial Pursuit experts Nick and Jeff have won last two weeks in a row – at Skiff Club’s Wednesday night Trivia contest evenings.  What’s the time, Nick?

Sevens heading in …

Ever-artistic Fifi was on the sand this morning, taking yet more seascape photos.  I love her specs  🙂

Management – on Keeping the Peace

There has been more than one complaint about noise rising up to residents – both at the Surf Club, and over at Shelly Beach.  Please be mindful of your joyous chatter  🙂

The Magnificent Seven:  The Cammeray chicks now own seven winter coats.  Today we have Jackie, Jen, Kate and Barb.  How cool!

Management – On Peace-keeping Force.  A speaker has been found for next month at the cosy, seaside Bluewater.  He is a retired NSW police member.  More later.

NB: A blog comment last week mistakenly stated restaurant nights are on first Tuesday.  B&B Monthly Dinners occur on Second Tuesday of the month; which slots the next for 14th July

Friday Triday Cake Club’s nominated baker today is Ori – with choc coffee cake

Insert water here: Warringah Triathletes choose industrial-strength hot water

Oh no: Not another bl**dy cuttlefish!

Suzie and Derek

Swimming Supplies:

I bought a wetsuit last winter to join B&B, but couldn’t find a swim-specific design among Manly’s many surf shops.  (Ended up with a shortie surfing thing).  So, I am posting this advert from Manly Daily.  The Collaroy store seems to stock heaps of swimming bibs and bobs

No jimbles today.  But Lyndall‘s not taking any chances, with this Oxford St Mardis Gras piece.  Style guru Annie is impressed!

After months of Queenscliff training,  fireman Kenny is currently in USA, and ready to compete in several events.  The International Games started yesterday.  Good luck, Ken!  Full report next month (maybe).

Cammeray Triathlon Club crew Sam, Kirsty and Mick

Alan the cap-badger …

Wil ‘n’ Wilf  (In Tuesday’s sun)

… along with Rob, Wil, John and Bob

Some of us are old enough (and sharp enough) to notice more than a few young musicians are sampling old tunes into their modern works.  This is Hilltop Hoods – by the grace of Melanie Safka.  With Tuesday’s yoga devotees.  (2 mins 25 sec)

For my people in the front – all covered in sand

“You know I looked around
At the faces I’d know
I fell in love with
The people in the front row
Oh oh how…

Ian McKight‘s butt …

Jo’s jimble strikes are fully healed.  Some wonder if female skin is more vulnerable or sensitive.  Others, that the venom strength can vary between the various jimbles in a cluster…

Winter Warmer B&B Swim School
Join Pacific Jules coaches Warren and Sarah Anne in the ocean – as they teach you the fundamentals of freestyle breathing.
This one-hour session in the water will help you breathe with ease.   Tune your body position to get more air, and work on achieving a calm and controlled breathing pattern.

When:        Saturday 4 July  (9:45 – 10:45 a.m.)
Cost :          $25
Location :  Shelly Beach
Open to everyone – all abilities welcome
What to bring:  swimmers, cap and goggles.  NB: wetsuit compulsory.  Drinking water, and money for a hot cuppa afterwards!
Please email:

info@pacificjules.com.au

for more information or to reserve your place

Well done everyone, for being here this morning.  Sunrise.  Clear waters.  Open ocean.  Fresh air.  Coffees with friends.  Gratitude.  A great way to start any day …

Hoping to finish my swims on Wed without being part of the inclusive jimble group….
Swims getting better and better by the day…. after a couple of weeks, getting to Shelly now seems like a gentle stroll again and was even tempted to do a double today….

Another superb blog, thanks Roger. That sunrise shot is superb and I love, love, LOVE the cuttlefish.
I loved Melanie Safka but feel for the lone yogi NOT in the front row.

Hey Roger. A very well layered, highly enjoyable blog with something for everyone. Nick, “The Human Juke Box”, is right, we’ve won the last 3 in a row at the Skiffy Trivia.
