Some of you may remember the ad campaign from the 70s featuring Norm, encouraging people to get up and so something. This morning again I was glad to arrive at Manly and see people surfing walking, swimming doing stuff with kettle balls. The talk of big waves did give me pause but I know there is always half way or Shelly beach so I was glad to drive in for the swim. It was great. There was strength in the water but I was glad to have a swim.
Here are some lovely swimmers who are persuaded to enjoy life. They are participating in the Manly Inflatable race on Sunday. Guess their team name 😉 They are calling for people to donate inflateable things to use to craft their vessel – inflatable thongs, boards, dolls etc.
Life be in it – say this lot and also today, Martin’s birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. See also Shelly beach chot

it was hard to get in today but here we are. I must say that I get excellent value for money from the life savers as they often ask me if I am ok. Also other swimemrs often ask too. Sometimes i am and sometimes I am not ok. But I always appreciate being asked.

Such a great blog Elizabeth. So many photos of happy swimmers before, during and after the swim and out so early too! Appreciate you blogging, all before a full day’s work too. Great shots at Shelly. The water blobs on the camera lens are a pain when shooting quickly but you nailed the story of a great swim!

Don’t forget John Kelly’s FREE Beer Tasting at the next B&B monthly dinner, which will be held on Tuesday 8th March at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant, and will include a FREE beer tasting for B&B members and their friends. Local Brookvale businesses, Nomad Brewing and Dial-a-Drink have combined to provide an exclusive tasting of four of Nomad’s finest beers to go with the usual fabulous meal provided by Bluewater. We will have a brief presentation on the different types of beer, and how to match them to your favourite foods. You will also be able to order any of your favourite Nomad beers on the night.
The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes the beer tasting plus shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). For those who are not partial to a cold beer, glasses of wine will also be available at the special price of only $5 each, so you can still come along and have a great time with all your B&B friends. Desserts will also be half price ($5 each). Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book at http://www.boldandbeautifulmanly.com.au/bb-bluewater-monthly-dinner.html.

Really interesting conditions today. Despite it being very flat ‘the escalator’ ie the rip we take out to the point was very strong. Watching from the walkway on the return I saw a number of people effectively swimming backwards. Even some very exerienced strong swimmers had trouble swimming against it and getting in

Elizabeth,
lots of close clear pictures almost make me feel like I was there.
I am out of the water for a few days, unfortunately at what is usually the nicest time of year to swim in Sydney; March and April are the start of lighter winds, glassy surfs with light offshore breezes, cooler weather, warm water and fewer beach-goers. Whoopie!!

Elizabeth, you always create an interesting, highly entertaining and thought provoking blog. I dont know how you manage to take so many photos of almost everyone who swam , and still get to swim yourself. The only person who was as busy as you this morning was Rainer! I counted 5 photo bombs at Shelley. Is that a record for a mornings work?

Thanks for noticing Lisa. A lot of hard work went into those bombs.
Great blog Elizabeth. And congrats Shelly B on ‘Swimmer of the Day’. Look forward to your acceptance speech tonight!
