Today there was no formal BB ceremony to remember those that served and serve, and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice, those we remember on ANZAC day. However, many many people came to the beach to watch the sunrise and to hear the trumpet sounding the Last Post (at the Life Saving Club). There was a moving memorial to fallen members of the Club, each with a name, an impossibly young age and a poppy.
The background shows the people on the wall for the dawn, marking ANZAC Day.
The early swimmers resolved to swim north in a swim dedicated to the Diggers.
