I was looking forward to my swim today even more than usual. I did not want to be overwhelmed by blue bottles or waves. Nor did I want to be underwhelmed by such rough conditions that I could not swim at all. I was looking for that perfect state – being whelmed. Thanks Sheena for letting me know about this. Today however, did not provide such conditions. There was a lot of unappealing stuff in the water – seaweed (including some strange vertical strands), plastic pieces and bags, assorted rubbish which could have been anything and even a bandaid. Yuck. Also a large number of seagulls bobbing around in a sinister manner.
Nonetheless I am glad that I got a swim in. I tried my new skills following more coaching and that is a good thing. Mr Smooth from the Swimsmooth site says that drills are the way to improve and who am I to argue. His stroke is perfect (and I am happy to acknowledge that even noting he is an animated figure)
Here are the A team people at the A team location – they would speed through the debris and not even get it on themselves
Joel and Jarrod were also glad to swim
Unlike me these two local swimmers had no traffic issues to report about their trip to the swim.
I will often look at the Goodviz Facebook page that Peter McGee maintains. It has awesome photos – here is a photo of Peter from a couple of weeks ago. Even he would not get good shots today

These swimmers were in such a rush they forgot their swim caps
Sadly I had to interrupt this important discussion about swim technique for the photo but luckily it resumed immediately after the shot
One swimmer had an uplifting experience at Shelly today
See how faded the one swim cap in this photo is – it was new when he set off!
Let’s go
The very excellent Rainer and Mary at Shelly
Some more important swim technique discussion
I saw one of these today although this photo is from another day.

What I have been reading i have just started a book by Harry Bingham which cam highly commended. By a random website pop up so I will see. It is a recommendation based on my browsing so it must be good. I am always shocked when youtube sends me recommendations for viewing based on my habits – swim technique, some world music and comedy. Big brother is really watching me watching you tube.

Loved reading your blog Elizabeth.
I do get a lot of recommendations based on my browsing history. Most of it is very offensive.
