There is a moist haze drifting over the beach at 6.30, and heaps of casual swimmers are body-surfing some really nice waves. Perhaps the pending Qld cyclone is giving our waters a nudge?

MORE ABOUT THE SECURITY OF OUR OCEANS …
Our scuba friend and ally Richard (of Dive Centre Manly and Ecodivers) tells me that the Australian Government has suspended the East Marine Reserve Network (national marine parks and oceanic reserves), and announced a review. This places them at risk of being cut back or erased completely. Key locations under review include: along the continental shelf and slope, Tasmantid Seamount chains, Norfolk Island’s Seamount chain and the Lord Howe Seamount chain. [Note: this is a national issue – and different to the recent successful lobbying we did for NSW marine reserves.]
We can’t let this occur. In this planet’s age of heavy fishing and population growth, marine sanctuaries are critical to the protection of sea life.
Would you send a quick submission to help save our commonwealth marine sanctuaries by 28th February 2015? (IE: Now) Click on link below, for your email response form. It also includes helpful Talking Points which refer to ocean zones and various issues. You might pick just one Talking Point that particularly concerns you – but please do not cut-and-paste. Use your own heartfelt words.

Haven’t read the blog for a while, but decided to today for some reason. Glad I did. Very clever offering, Roger, thanks for writing.

I vote Roger design a fresh range of Bnb merch for autumn, including t-shirts and car stickers.

Robbie, I went home that day – to discover I’d been wearing 32″ for months (instead of 34″ waist). God knows how much crack got sprayed about all that time – unbeknown to me. You saved (others from any more of) my butt that day
🙂

Shelly
that’s made doubly funny cause the kid’s dad is also a ” Scouse git”, I’m his Irish mum
I reckon it might be something along the lines of
JK: “From this day forward you will assemble at 6.55am to join in singing “you’ll never walk alone” otherwise your swim won’t count”
Kid: “But don’t you support Everton?”

who are you calling a Scouse git, Patricia?
anyway, this scouse git should have heeded JK’s cautionary words and headed straight for halfway without first unsuccessfully trying to get to the point..pathetic…. it’s not like that swimming in the Mersey though

Great blog Roger. So much effort in the alphabet.
Kid – Don’t be a bully and give my friends goggles back, see, he’s still hanging on to them.
JK – I don’t care, I support Everton.

Fabulous blog Roger. At the top of the ramp, is Martin now going by ‘David’? I hope Jim is getting better for a quick return to the swim. I need advice on those towering waves
