I did not see the super moon so instead today with a group of others I had a super swim.
Here are the Babewatch group who swim with BB and talk about anxiety and depression that people suffer from to raise awareness. Apart from that awareness-raising and being very excellent swimmers (with Murray aka The Kid) being super fast ()and kind – they talked me in to the beach when I seriously needed some talking down from a big panic), Erin in the middle has worked as a shepherd with a crook, in Ireland. Also a quad bike.
Here are Ross and Tony (multitasking on his bike) and friend
JK and Catherine (newbie who waited out the crowded days)
The upcoming dinner – Dorsett draws to our attention – details below
Super swimmers who swim super-early
Lovely to see Marije – here with John
Our own triathletes bloggers
Andy and “I” were hoping for a shower without a queue but the construction tape was impregnable.
Gillian and Jonathan
Encounters with early swimmers. great to see the smiles as they exit
In the water
Masters of the universe swimmers – Mark Richard and friend
Peta kindly stopped on the way back from Shelly
An admirable elbow. for me this swim is almost all about improving my technique. So it is great to watch the excellent swimming around me. Freestyle is king to me. I saw an article recently about the ‘invention’ of freestyle and how there is some dispute about which of two people swimming at Coogee – one was surname Cavill and the other was an ancestor of Tracy Wickham named Alick Wickham.

Swimmers are required to bring their own food/drink requirements which can be left at Manly.
The swim is dependent on suitable ocean/weather conditions.
Remember to be sensible as no badge is worth putting yourself and others in danger
Monthly Dinner – 13th February 2018 – Guest Speakers
The first B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 13th February at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speakers on the night will be Dr Ezequiel “Ziggy” Marzinelli and Dr Adriana Verges from the Sydney Institute of Marine Science(SIMS). SIMS, in partnership with Dorset Sutton and Jenny Lim Sutton and the Manly community, propose to undertake Operation Crayweed Manly, a project to restore lost underwater forests in Manly, in particular a type of seaweed called Crayweed, which provides critical habitat for crayfish (Eastern Rock Lobster) and abalone. Ideally the restoration would take place in Cabbage Tree Bay, as an iconic and beloved place under the watchful gaze of a community of custodians who care and love this exceptional marine environment. However this will depend on gaining community support and approval from NSW Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries) due to Cabbage Tree Bay’s status as an Aquatic Reserve. The project team are keen to talk with the B&B community, as people who love and use Cabbage Tree Bay, to hear your thoughts and seek your support for this project.
The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.
Bob Hayter’s Funeral is in the Magnolia Chapel, Macquarie Park Cemetery & Crematorium at 11am on Wednesday, 7th February.
What I have been reading
Continuing with the rereading of Michael Connelly, A darkness More than Night and still going with my Walks book from last week which is good. it is sort of about the UK and interesting walks but also about interesting people who have done them and also about how interesting walking is, depending on where you go

Hi Elizabeth
It appears the request for volunteers to help this Sunday morning has fallen off the ‘bottom of the blog’ messages section. Can you please re-instate it. Thanks very much.

CAN YOU HELP? PLEASE
MLSC, the Club whose front porch we swarm around of an am, is helping to run the Cole Classic this Sunday. This is one of their major fundraising events. They have asked us if we can help them with some volunteers on Sunday morning. This is a great opportunity for us to show some goodwill to the club who on some rare occasions have helped save a few swimmers in difficulty. They are relying on us and at present we need more helpers If you can spare anytime can you please comment below or contact me via Facebook (Elizabeth Ecks). As well as all the Bolds already doing watersafety they need help on the Bag Drop area (B&B is managing) and perhaps at the finish line. THANK YOU
Victoria
