Friday 17 March 2017 Change is good. And Happy St Patrick’s Day!

17/03/20171

Change is good. Change and adaptation is survival. I personally prefer things to stay the same and I love routine. This morning the traffic (vehicular and foot) was huge. It is pouring and is is the second week in March so it must be Coastrek, walkers to Bondi raising money for Fred Hollows Foundation. I have to join an extra long queue for the ladies:

But it is in a good cause so I will adapt because as Darwin teaches us, change is survival. As long as it has swimming in it, I am happy to change my routine. There were some others of the same view here today:

Shaun and I had a demarcation complaint with the Coastrek walkers who were blocking the surf club. That is our role

I did not make it to Shelly today while there were other swimmers there. Needless to say, it is Coastrek’s fault. Luckily I got some shots of swimmers along the way

Look at the great beards! And a green cap for St Patrick’s Day

Thanks Hugh for stopping for a photo.

Here I am with all my swim companions!

Newbie Mike stopped to say hi. Look at that smile. He’ll be back and I think all the Coastrek people will join too. Walking in the rain is ok until the blisters start

I am so impressed that David ran the 6 foot track a lot of times. We have walked it and it is beautiful but there are some solidly up and down bits. Well done. An inspiration

Stats (plus shamrock near the temp)

David McMahon

A quick update on David McMahon, who had an accident in the surf at Manly last Sunday when completing the swim.  David has finally been discharged from RNS Hospital. He has a fracture of the C5 vertebra, but fortunately, the cord is intact & there is nil neurological deficit. David will be in a neck brace for about 6 weeks, so no swimming or other exercise. We all wish him a speedy recovery.

Glad for the update on Dave, missed him by 5 minutes at work on Sunday. Fingers crossed for the recovery. Great photos today, I slept in for a change.
