We do our thinking in our heads. I do swimming for my headspace as well as for exercise (well a bit). I saw this photo and wanted to share it – look at what the jimble has in its headspace. Most irregular. What are the chances.

here is a regular swimmer and the newbie on the right who did not sign in. I did not get a name.

Sam is looking forward to swimming.

Bruce, my role model swimmer.

Some swimmers and others who have dressed to get you to think about mental health. We all have things to deal with in life but if we have a mental health issue it is so much harder. Give a thought today to those who have mental health issues to deal with. It does not always show on the outside so keep that in mind. It is probably un-australian to admit it but I personally suffer from an anxiety disorder and have done for years. Getting help was a revelation so urge those who listen to you to get some help.

Jim Martin and Dorset were prompted by the costumes to think about the mental health of others

Happy birthday Roz!!

The A team

Great T Shirt. I wonder how our silver wetsuit Cairns team went. Were there jelly fish? what was the effect of that low on the water in Cairns. And the bike/run. i hope they are back soon for a de brief

My encounters with the early swimmers

Happy birthday David !!!

I get to Shelly Beach.

Roz gets to say the Let’s go. I hope the early swimmers let David do so too

Two gorgeous swimmers

what I am reading. Not much because of some workstream spreadsheets which are sending me blind. how small is legible font? I am continuing my constant forays into swimming improvements on youtube though. there are some helpful things and some unusual things. One helpful hint is about rhythm in your stroke. unfortunately when I tried this – and got a bit of an improvement – I thought of the Game of Thrones theme and cannot get that ear worm out now. Can anyone with a musical bent think of a replacement for that song?
Below is one of the aids that you can buy for a hefty fee – it looks great if you don’t garotte yourself while swimming. I have had lots of entertainment imagining I am using it.

*B & B Trivia Night*
As you are aware B&B is a free for all activity, but there are ongoing
costs that need to be met.  To help support B&B and keep it the wonderful,
inclusive, growing phenomena that it is we will be arranging a fund-raising
Trivia Night at The Steyne Hotel on Tuesday 12th July. Please keep this
date free so you can come along. In order to make this event a success, we
are asking for:
– volunteers to assist in the organisation of the event
– donation of goods and or services that can be used as auction items or
raffle prizes
If you can assist with either of these can you please contact John Kelly  (
jmk@balancemanagement.net.au).
*Winter Badge*
It’s nearly that time again. Winter is coming … and so are the winter
badges. The winter swimming season runs from 1 June to 31 August, and to
qualify for your winter badge, you must:
– swim at least 20 times during this period
– swim in at least 7 different weeks
– log your swims
To qualify for the WWW badge (winter without wetsuit) you must complete all
of the above without wearing a wetsuit or any other form of bodily thermal
enhancement (don’t forget to check the “without wetsuit” button on the log
in screen). Why not give it a try? Any questions – email Ian (
ugoboyo@gmail.com)

Love reading the blog. So many smiling faces. I managed to get down for a swim yesterday morning. That WWW badge sure looks like a challenge. 19 more to go.
Here is a video I made of swimming in cabbage tree bay when the water was so clear, before the crazy storm. Share and enjoy.

Damn that’s some kinky-looking swim gear. Can definitely see Rainer rocking that style

Elizabeth, I once used a whole pool swim session to imprint a song I was learning – Le colibri (hummingbird) by Chausson – in 5/4 time, which really stretched my brain. Spotify it.

Shelley! I’ll reconsider our winter solstice swim if you don’t stop those lewd comments. And yes, I’d look great in them.

So unfair…After all you were the one referencing auto-erotic asphyxiation this morning if I recall

Have I misunderstood the swimming aid that I copied in to the blog? Was it not to improve stroke?

Don’t think you can go past Russ Abbot’s “You canny shove yer granny off a bus”. It’s been getting me across Cabbage Tree Bay and back for the last week.

Well, I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep after the granny song and his skinny legs! How about “Stayin’ Alive” (100 compressions/minute CPR) and great for dancing, swimming or whatever. Failing that “Morning has broken” for breathing on either side – in waltz time- or “We all live in a yellow submarine”… zzzzzzzz
