BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY MEETING DUE TO THE CONTINUED RISK OF COVID-19. IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONTINUE PHYSICAL DISTANCING AND FOLLOW PUBLIC HEALTH ADVICE. THANK YOU FOR SWIMMING AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY
There was wind and waves today. Each person following their own routine. But with a hit of nostalgia I came across Mel at the point and then Vanessa at Shelly Beach. And I sang Happy birthday twice. A nice hark to a recent past.
You’ve heard of a dry blog well today there are only in-water photos. And that’s where you get some great smiles

Shout out to all HSC students and their parents – Tony Faahan-Smith, me, Juliette. All the best with it. Take care of yourselves.

Kerry and Jenny saw the grey nurse. Stay clear of it and give it space. No one cares about your insta profile. See it and move on. Several weeks ago a whale and her calf were in near North Steyne. Hundreds of people watched from the shore and respectful surfers on boards watched in an arc at a distance. It was lovely until an idiot with long flippers swam right up to the calf and touched it. For an insta gratification. The whale flicked her tail and they swam away – obviously they dislike idiots too.

Happy birthday Mel (on the right)
Her swim pupils will be training for the big swim ending at Whale Beach

New Swimmers sign-up, Caps and Badges
On Saturday 17th October, the amazing B&B volunteer helpers will be at the benches (100 m north of the surf club, weather permitting) from 8 am until 9 am with a sign-up sheet for anyone who wants to sign up and start logging their swims. Any new swimmers who have started swimming over the winter period are invited to sign up and get their free B&B latex cap.
In addition, if you haven’t been able to find a stamp or envelope, we will have a supply of this year’s winter badges for sale (Covid Challenge and Ice Cold Corona) at $10 each. We will also have the following items:
-
summer badges (triple, 6 km, 10 km), distance badges (500 km, 1000 km, 2000 km) and last year’s winter badges – $10 each (cash only please bring the correct money)
-
silicone swimming caps ready for winter – $15 each (cash only please bring the correct money)
-
latex caps (free) if you have broken/lost yours or have friends/family who have just started swimming
Thanks all and have a truly wonderful day ahead!

I don’t like people approaching wildlife either, are there big swims being organised in the community? Tell all please.
