Swimming is a way of feeling new and revitalised. No newbies today but if there were, they would find out what it is like to start your day with a swim. I have been spending a bit of time – like usual – investigating ways of improving my health and have seen a lot of BEFORE and AFTER photos so I will share some with you today.
BEFORE SWIMMING in the sea
And AFTER (the very young ones did doubles and a triple)
Here are some others getting ready for a revitalising swim
a special treat for me – Jenn, Ali and Peter on a Friday
A very early swimmer in amongst us
Bernhard John and Martin with a gap where Jim would be if he agreed to be in the blog
Shaun and Edwina have a date
with some whales in Tonga.
have a good time and take photos to share
Near the A team tree
Nomi completed her PHD in Epidemiology two days ago. Congratulations
Encounters with early swimmers who were elderly when they went in but look at them now
By some weird turn of events i got to Shelly while there were still swimmers there. It must be because I have been watching Chloe Sutton on youtube and lying on the couch practising: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuseCkUKVk0&list=PLFnOnzqka7cDJnZiyi4ZTUGaBH7gY568t&index=14
Anyway, i was glad to see HOLLY because she completed 300km today! Imagine if she had started a bit earlier – it might have been 500km!
Here are Bernhard and Alan. Alan’s Sally gave birth to a lovely granddaughter two days ago, Mia Diana (Diana after Alan’s mum). What a joy. As soon as possible, mum and baby will be at the sea, I am sure. In the meantime, congratulations and note a good way to celebrate such a happy event, Alan.
What I have been reading
“Coffin Road” by Peter May. Pretty Good. I have had a recommendation to read “Completely Fine” so will give that a look

Hi Elizabeth,
with me it’s not old before and very young after the swim. I feel old before the swim and feel old again after it. During the swim it varies.
At a glance I thought it was me in the first photo then realised it could not be me: I never smoke a pipe,
