I like swimming because it is SO HARD for me to do it well or to improve. I have been doing many different lessons where I have tried hard to create a pausing forearm. Yesterday I got a follow up video link which tells me that I should not pause my stroke too much because it will create a dead spot in my stroke and now that is what I don’t want:

MEN’S WORK

Men’s Wellbeing (Qld-based) invites all Sydney men to the next Common Ground men’s group starting on 30 July.  Common Ground is a program run by men, for men.  We’ve been running Common Ground for 15 years and we know it works, because men (and their partners) rave about the program.  There are profound benefits when men have the opportunity to discuss with other men the things that matter, and have the conversations that they need to have.

(Anyone with questions please feel free to chat with Roger  – he did the course in Byron Bay 14 years ago – Roger Harvey)

This Common Ground will run on the Northern Beaches over two weekends: 30-31 July and 20-21 August.

We are still building our networks in Sydney, so your help in spreading the word can make a big difference. If you know someone who might enjoy a new men’s group why not let them know?  For more info – talk to Matty on 0419 172 890 or emailmatthew.cuttler@menswellbeing.org

*Manly Surf Club Season Opening Party*

Some really lovely swimmer photos. I particularly love the one of Nick and his kids. Look forward to watching your swim technique video too. A shame the water wasn’t so clear again today. We thought it had cleared up yesterday.

i did the ‘what kind of swimmer’ are you personality test:
and kept coming out Hardened Soul no matter which way i went ;p
Although the temp test went from 20 degrees straight to below 10 – nothing in between.. which is what we swim in.. Not sure i could swim below 12 …
Everyone looked pink skinned at Shelly must have been COLD!

I agree – fabulous rashie – putting colour into your strokes. Forget about the dead spots. Fun blog too.
