Fresh and Blustery (and the Flugtag)- Tuesday 13 November 2018

It was hard not to mention the wind this morning as the nor easter pushed us down the trail to the clubhouse. It was about 1o to 15 knots at my guess with a good cover of white caps by 6.45 am. Certainly not what the forecast predicted with 1m of swell being pushed up by the stiff breeze. We should see the N/easter turn by Thursday with a strong southerly. In the meantime while quite bumpy it was a nice swim with a balmy feel of 20+ degrees.

Despite the Nor Easter, this little Bluey was the only one we saw.

As you can see not ideal, but not cold and always worth a swim.

Given the conditions, I didnt take the camera out today so to keep you entertained, I went to the Flutag on the weekend and caught some footage of a few B&Bers (in blue caps this time), my son, Joel’s attempt to fly with his teams Redbull creation. Despite his pilot face planting from 9 metres up, she walked away unscathed.

The Sandy Bottoms will be fielding a team for the next one.(and Terry Mcjannett has already requested the Pilot role)

Monthly Dinner – 13^th November 2018 – Guest Speaker

The next B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 13th November at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Our guest on the night will be one of our swimmers, Tony Stuart, who is the CEO of UNICEF Australia. Tony will talk about his work in Africa, including South Sudan and Senegal.
