Forgive me father for I have ‘swimmed’

16/12/201210

It’s been 2
months since my last swim.

As penance I have been
informed by the almighty LSA and Jules that I now have to blog on a Sunday and
promise to swim more.

OK, ill try and swim and blog
but if the surf is good i may have to miss a few swims. God knows I need the
practice.

Anyhow, onto the days events.

*Disclaimer of
the day –the camera was fogged up so the pictures are pretty poor quality –
blame the camera, not the blogger.

There were 155 + swimmers – some people thought they were too cool to tick ( Anne Wilson , Linda Goodwin, shame on you) 11 people including (JOHN BOND the double swim king) did a double lap.

The water was a warmish 20.5 degrees and water vis was like soup.

The surf was up and the waves were
rolling in at a rapid pace as everyone set off.  The Manly Lifeguard on duty asked everyone to swim within their
limits and not come back in through the waves as conditions may be a bit rough
for the inexperienced open water swimmers.

Most people took his advice and got
out at halfway. (I did notice that Jane swam all the way though, with ease I
may add. Well done Jane)

A handful of new swimmers today. Welcome, you picked a rough day to start swimming.

Ian must have stood downwind from Nick the brick this morning. Nick had Greek lamb last night and didnt we know it!

Jules pretended to go out through the waves but heres some evidence she actually turned back and did a half way option.

Another newbie swimmmer was spotted this morning too.

I saw a couple of scary cat fish on my way to the point – see below.

It was a good swim through the waves, especially for all the first timers.

Even though there was a bit of rubbish in the water today it was suprisingly clear  past teh point.
This picture shows the clarity very well. Apparantly santa has started his rounds early this year.

Meanwhile, after a rolling swim over at shelly Beach……

Jules gives this beautiful sunday morning the Thumbs up

A couple of Blog Tarts show that they are really All White.

( Lips Nips) That really is a see through top mate, So So glad the swimmers are made of thicker material.

There really is nothing like having a wee in your wetsuit to warm the bones. You can see the satisfaction on the face cant you.

Heres lesley again. Long time swimmer and part time blog queen, Pretending she doesn’t want her photo taken. Whatever.

Anna A saying the loves swimming ‘This Much’

LSA working it for the camera. She did have a rashie on when she started swimming but decided to strip off half way across. Not many people know this but Sarah was once married to Hugh Hefner and spent 4 years living as a bunny girl in the playboy mansion. Times have changed, she leads a more relaxed life and now she spends her time swimming and drinking coffee. And yes, she still has the bunny ears and has said she will wear them on the Christmas Day swim. sarah, you really are full of suprises.

Most people did the ise thing and made an early exit via Sea Poppy.

Attracta asked if i would take a photo of her on the way back to the club, she pleaded with me in fact. Here you go Attracta. Im a man of my word.

I saw Stephen C on the way back from coffee, he had a bad Blue bottle sting on his neck shoulders and armpit

CALM DOWN – ITS ONLY AN ARMPIT!

Yeasterday in another part of the Northern Beaches:
A few B&B swimmers formed a splinter group yesterday and did an EPIC swim around palmy headland and were planning on going down the coast. All was going well until they saw a rather large fish, white in colour with spikey sharp teeth. Someone saw Mr Fish licking his lips and saying Yum Yum whilst looking at Iain so they promptly got out of the water after 5km. Well done people.

SOME LATE PICS FROM STEPHEN C, THE BLUE BOTTLE WHISPERER:

And some Rainer Photos too

Discuss…….

Until next Sunday

Have a good one

Tim

Love the blog Tim!I think we must get ‘Sunrise’ or Channel 10 back to do a special on Little Sarah Abbott. Ex Bunny Girl in training with Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad for her 1st Solo English Channel Swim. I can see the headlines now.Snorkels and Rainer, you Blog Tarts, no wonder you hang around this legend!!
I’m glad the blog takes you a bloody long time too Santa Tim.
Loved the swim this morning and it really wasn’t that bad coming back through the waves although the Halfway option is best if you are nervous.I have spoken to a few people and contrary to what was said, no pink caps were rescued by life savers yesterday. We are all bold, beautiful but sensible too!
P.S. The Blog not coming up on Facebook yet.

    Thanks Tim! Love the blog!!
For the record, the rashie didnt look see through when i tried it on in the shop. Imagine my surprise the first morning i swam in it. But lets get real, there are plenty of men swimming topless every morning. How come no one zooms in on their nipples???
Secondly, LSA, respect. You look great in pink!
And finally, here’s the story to the last 3 photos..
First one shows Annie trying to massage Stephen’s nipple, which he was trying to pass as a ‘bluebottle sting’. Nice try Stephen.
Number two is showing ex-bunny LSA at her favourite pastime.. scheming to shore up mystery bloggers and meddling in the PC points system. Simon was recording attendance sheets today i’m told.
Third photo shows our very own John S giving Surf Lifesaving Australia the thumbs up. He’s finally passed his bronze medallion and is one of the favourites in the running for next president of Manly LSC.

Great blog Timberlie, good to have you back 🙂
Love the commentary Rainer, you’re so in tune
Thanks Elaine, it’s up on Facebook now, I don’t know what the problem was, the sharing software must have had a lazy start to the day.

Yikes! Forgot to give Simon any of my eggs and toast!
And yes, looking forward to John S’s presidential run – we heard a rehearsal for one of his speeches – another “lay-low” type:-)
We missed you Snorkles…. I was recognised from the Blog by someone in Manly who’s never swum with us. She reads it every day for the entertainment. “You all have such fun!” True!!

infiltrate from within, the aim is to lull the red and yellow powers that be to sign over the club to the pink caps.

It was funny yesterday when you asked how to become president of the club.
The question was ignored, twice. Hahaha
Why the ladies toilets John ? What. Is the go with that?
