Expect the unexpected

21/10/20184

You never know what you’re going to get was running through my mind as I walked down Ashburner Street this morning.

Confession – I noticed Forrest Gump was on the tube  last night but surfed past it.

So much seaweed! For a minute I thought I was at my local beach, Dee Why where the absence of seaweed is remarkable, not its presence.

Meanwhile the faithful were performing their gathering, greeting and preparation rituals

Temps have dropped a little. Other stats – so far 112 people have ticked so my guess is a few more than that swam today.

Murray and friend managed to pull this very large object out of the ocean. Great work!

Another look at the seaweed as the peloton headed to the water

The intersection of the early and the later

Ready to go

Negotiating the vegetation. I did hear an observation that the seaweed served as a distraction from the cold water. We can be grateful for this I suppose

Waiting at the point

Rainer and Jo

The visibility was poor but I spotted this ray close to Shelley.

I heard from Peter that he and Cheryl were circled by some VERY large kingfish out at the bower 😲

The swim back

I happened upon these lovely mermaids on the start of the way back in to the beach

We prevailed upon Richard to take a photo of the 4 of us

And I returned the compliment. Thanks buddy.

Close to shore I tried to take some shots of waves breaking overhead. It is not easy.

This completely by accident

A young local having fun in the swell (permission to post provided by the subject). Quality not great but you can see the enjoyment.

What am I listening to?
Paul Kelly has a new album called Nature. This is one of the very fine tracks on it.

I believe personal development is incredibly important and one of the best self help gurus around is JP Sears.

Hope you’re feeling enlightened. Enjoy the rest of your day.
