Don’t do it…..

20/03/202111

But quite a few did. I thought I might swim from Shelly today but didn’t even do that. Heavy rain with big waves and large swell everywhere turned me off. I had fun watching the surf skis working out early today plus the surfers and the odd group of swimmers.

I walked to the wall to take a pic of two people meditating in the rain and found myself standing in a puddle ankle deep. Aren’t they dedicated to not be bothered at all.

Under the shelter of the surf club were a small group gathering. I was told Murray went out alone, and I caught him afterwards, ” not that bad” was his report, and definitley not clear or clean. He was happy , but he knows he’s capable of it , unlike some of us who need calmer conditions. He tried to avoid a photo but it’s nice to give credit where it’s due, he’s got a lovely smile too 🙂

I got soaking wet, unsurprisingly, walking to the point to watch a group head out through the rip and surf at the point. The dry group were having fun watching it all from land.

This group went to halfway, there’s a newbie ( !!! ) called Levy and Suzanne came from Avalon, gosh people are good aren’t they. Or something maybe….Levy is second on the left, Suzanne second on the right.

Elaine took these pics from halfway and in the water. gosh and wow….

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Suzanne

Getting ready to head out

Off they go and yes they all came back

Then another group went, including a strong little lady.

They all returned too. This is what happened to the concrete where the temperature normally gets recorded:

The beach signs went up

Photos don’t do it justice

Yesterday afternoon as I walked past

Not sure what their thoughts were afterwards, some said it was scary, some reported having to hold your breath waiting for the white wash to let you back up for air, some said brown water at Shelly, and others reported a big rip in the bay!

Found in male change rooms, not by me, please comment below if it’s yours.

Well done Edwina on good coverage of a really ‘ordinary’ swim! Still glad i did it though. The dustiness from Friday night drinks has gone anyway!
