Deja Vu -keeping a look out for the best things.

July 17, 20212

Typepad wouldn’t work on Barb’s computer, so I”ve cut and pasted her blog here.

It has been hard over recent weeks not to have an underlying

sense that we have done this before. A sense of Deja Vu.

‘a feeling of having already experienced the present situation.’

However, it struck me that ocean swimming teaches us every time,

every swim and every minute in the cool, crisp water that a moment

in life is never the same twice. It’s how we look at it, that matters.

The sun was high in the sky when we ventured for our swim today.

Looking stunning and like a beauty seen for the first time.

People on the beach and boardwalk were conscious of doing the

right thing.

This is Kate and Margie, enjoying the zen of preparing with them

own thoughts for the plunge they would soon take.

The wind whipped and the water seemed colder than yesterday.

And little did we know that in our swim crew strewn across the bay

we would have the antidote for a sense of Ground Hog Day.

A voice boomed “Rrrright ladies sprint for 10 strokes day no breath” like never

before Coach Suz, supported by Coach Tink sprang into a swimming challenge,

we all laughed as we swam a little differently, sprinting (or our version of this

having shaken off the sense of doing the same thing, day after day !!!

It gave me the idea of being conscious about moments in the day as

‘The best thing, so far…that might happen today’ and

I left the water thinking well that is the best thing so far today, then I had a Staples croissant and then

that was best thing in the day so far… it can be the small things that count.

Wishing all a safe day, with some small moments, noticing something

new or bright around you and more than one best thing over the weekend.

And thinking of all that are doing it tough, where ever you are.
