What a privilege to swim with you fine people every morning. Mine starts with a 6:45am wake up, check on my daughter and kiss my beautiful wife good morning…
Then down to end of the street to be greeted this. Let there be light!
Here we find Hon securing support for Mike after a long night working the phones. If Mike becomes State Premier his first act of parliament will be to secure funding for pink cossies and coffee for all BnB swimmers.

Here we have the Spaniard – single, 26, catch of the day! If he is a rump steak, then behind him we have some beef jerky.
Now we fast forward to the end of the swim. Sometimes people ask me, ‘what is it like to be one of the fast swimmers?’. OK, no one has ever asked me that… but let me go on… each morning as you arrive, it starts with a quick look around to see who is there. Sterling… got him covered. Dreamboat… got him covered… Sophie Chan… got her covered… the Spaniard… getting quicker, getting more worried… Scrappy Scotty… oh no, this morning is going to hurt. Brad… trouble… And then if it is a Thursday morning… it is Shaun! Currently unbeatable over the 750m (not that it is a race)… here is first and second this morning (with your humble correspondent third).
After this the next wave come in, followed by the normal 2 hours of dissecting the mornings swim. Here is the cover of One Directions next album.
Then it is over to coffee where this mornings big topics of conversation were the Spaniard buying a 10 year old girls wetsuit for winter…
And Hon accepting a $3,000 mug of latte. Of course Hon is incorruptible and one of the finest men we all know (and preaching at my church on May 11th)…
Finally I get to return home to be greeted by the Shmope and tell her how I won the swim yet again (if you dont count Shawn who pool trains and the Spaniard who will soon be deported).
Finally, as it is Easter a little verse from the Bishop. John 15:12-13 Jesus says, “My command is this: Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friend.” I have always thought the Bold and Beautiful exemplify this verse in the way the group cares for one another, waits for the slowest and I am sure if there was ever to be a problem would lay down their lives for each other. I said as much in a blog for my church when I first started swimming. You can read it here…

Fascinating how various ‘Shauns’ are covering both ends of the speed spectrum now..
LSA – Lesbubbles had a false start this morning. Thereby avoiding another humiliating defeat inflicted by the ever speedier Lips.
I think Helen and I arrived comfortably in bottom third of the group. Our fit and athletic looks are deceiving

My niece Jess and boyfriend Kev from Qld will be there at 0615 tomorrow. They are training for the Hawaii half ironman so are keen to meet any other nutters about. Thanks for keeping a lookout for them. I’m going kayaking. Cheers Jonny
