Van Morrison’s song sums it up so well. What else to say or better to explain the recent conditions. The lyrics have been ringing in my ears as we enjoy some of the best visibility and conditions for ocean swimming (and sightseeing) in our beautiful bay.
Yesterday I mentioned to the legendary Drinky that I’ d seen 4 octopuses on my swim that day. He laughed (that man always has a laugh ready how does he do it) and said something like ‘ there you are, we all enjoy different things from the swim’. How true, as in life.
Today was another beautiful swim with the distinct ‘ enjoy it while it lasts’ feeling as big swells are predicted to arrive shortly. Some will enjoy that thought and others like me will review plans about where to enter the bay.
This is one of the beautiful 4 cephalopods we saw kind courtesy of Anne Henshaw photographer par excellence.

Anne also gave us a complicated explanation attempting to explain how to to differentiate between males and females. Something to do with the males third right appendage (hectocotylus allegedly) being unlike the rest. I’ll just park that thought and head to less complicated territory.

Lovely blog Di! Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a Wonderful World’ is the song that rings in my ears especially as I swim over the sea grass off the point. It was wonderful to see Errol and Justus out swimming together and the Fiddler Ray over the sea grass today! Great Octopus shot Anne!
