Community & Connection

27/01/20260

Yesterday’s cake stall was an extraordinary success, raising over $3,000 for One Meal … a fabulous result – best cake stall ever! Beyond the funds raised, what stood out most was the love, generosity and community spirit on display. Manly really showed up, as it always does.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who gave their time, every baker who lovingly prepared something delicious, and everyone who stopped, donated, chatted and connected. This is what makes our community so special – that deep sense of care and willingness to come together for something bigger than ourselves.

The past month has reminded us just how much the ocean shapes our lives here. We’ve faced changeable & unpredictable weather conditions and, sadly, the impact of shark incidents that affect us all. Yet through it all, the Manly beach community has stayed connected, supportive and resilient. We’ve looked out for one another, adapted as needed, and continued to show respect for the ocean that gives us so much.

That’s the beauty of being a beach community, we understand that nature is powerful, sometimes challenging, but always deserving of care. We meet those challenges together.

As the locals return to work – they say the new year really starts after January’s long weekend, I hope they feel as i do, grounded by the beach. The ocean has offered rest, rejuvenation and a chance to truly recharge. There is something incredibly special about this place: a space where people come to breathe, to heal, to move, to connect, and simply to be. It’s a reminder of why Manly means so much to so many.

And finally, a little reminder to keep the good energy going – don’t forget to book your trivia tickets!
Trivia Night is happening at The Steyne on 10th February, and it promises to be a fun, community-filled evening. I’ll pop the booking link below – we’d love to see you there.
