70 Bold and Beautiful Swimmers
I just got out of the tumble dryer….and am now thawed enough to write the blog! 🙂
Lovely dawn photo from James Goins on this 4th of July!!

Lowest air temp was 8 degrees and the water was 16.5!
This is STILL warm compared to say the UK in middle of winter….in fact I saw a Pommie family the other day sunbathing on the beach AND frolicking in the water!
Below Michael heading off to take the water temperature, Little Sarah Abbott showing us you can still look stylish first thing in the morning before a swim, and Gab who carries everything in her pink cap..they can really stretch!

The walk in! We were greeted with some beaut waves today – the sort that even Vicki H would enjoy! No actually they were pretty big but fun big….On Willy Weather it said they were 3.7 metres

Some people just cannot handle the cold! Who is the bravest person in the next pic??! People just love having their photo taken at BnB!
For the swim out there was a lull in the waves but they picked up as we neared the point and I saw some pink caps go under!
Floating Pink Ice Bergs! An idea of how big some of the waves were – you can normally see the beach at this angle! James looking relieved he made it…or is that him relieving??

Good swim over – with some roll from the waves. Visibility icy blue!! brrrr
Today’s birthdays (that we know of) Simon Cowell and Gareth Thomas – who luckily (for me) weren’t here so we didn’t have to sing happy birthday at Shelly in the cold!! 😀
John K heading over to Shelly…. Line up once there …Jules having a laugh!!

Swim back – seemed longer due to hyperthermia setting in! 😉 It’s worth every leaden stroke…But once we got back to the point there was some, what appeared to be, big waves and I couldn’t get my camera out in time to take this one – but got the ‘moving away’ shot of it. I am sure a lot of us swam like crazy during the lull period between sets! It was a lot of fun though…

Here’s a link to the BENEFITS OF COLD WATER SWIMMING BBBRRRRRR …I should say this is based on Without A Wetsuit!! The benefits speak for themselves – so if you are wondering if it’s good for you…it is!!
Also Jules put up a link yesterday for a video of us all swimming by swimmer Brett – Just in case you all missed it – it’s really good! B&B Swim
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL ON TOUR
Below Chris K…didn’t have his cap with him so grabbed something else pink ..and very hot! Though not sure if it’s his wife??

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE FOR COMING DOWN – SEE YOU TOMORROW!!!

Very witty, as usual, Lesley:-) Only a B&B would call pre-swim dress “stylish” (or after-swim for that matter):-)
Great pics by James and yourself. I saw that big wave just as I was coming to the point and repeated the mantra “don’t panic” a few dozen times and somehow survived without the washing-machine or tumble-dryer treatment:-))
Great balloons!!!

See Murray’s second pic of us in Sprout Daily – “Shadows Marching Into the South End” – beautiful. I wasn’t imagining those rolls…. Where did he take it from?
He also reports the Weather Bureau mentioning 1 degree at 7.00! Felt like it too.
Happy 60th Simon -come back soon with your new baby (camera):-)

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I was wishing I was in Manly at 7am this morning while swimming 60 laps (x25m)of the local Melbourne pool without a wetsuit – in 27 degree water.
The blog really helps with the homesick blues while ever I’m in the Windy city. Can’t wait to see you on the weekend.
