Cold & blustery everywhere except…

07/06/201717

Well this seemed to keep most of the Bold and Beautiful in bed this morning. Driving down from Balgowlah Heights and it wasn’t looking good on the harbour!

But then this… if there was ever going to be one protected spot in all of Sydney to swim… it has to be our little bay! The water was warm for June at 19 degrees and visibility was pretty good!

The Kid is our current Triple Crown champion. He did the 6:30am Drinks Express and decided that was enough for the day. When you are still in the speedos, it gets a bit cool post dip.

Nice to see Simon and Jeff enjoying a post swim cuddle. Simon’s new wetsuit looks like it is covered in seagull poo… but no, it is camouflage for shark spotting!

Well not many swimmers at all today and even the A-team were thinly represented. Thanks to my photoshop assistant Roger you can now feel like you were at the swim for Sterling’s 7 o’clock!

Well a little bit of narkiness last week in the blog towards our beloved A-team. It’s ok…

“Segnet, die euch verfolgen; segnet und fluchet nicht… Habt einerlei Sinn untereinander. Trachtet nicht nach hohen Dingen, sondern haltet euch herunter zu den Niedrigen… Ist es möglich, soviel an euch ist, so habt mit allen Menschen Frieden.” Roemer 12:14,16,18

Much love,

The Bishop!

    Was it a male-only swim today?

    A swim in the rain is one of life’s simple pleasures. 🐬🐠🐳💧💦☔️

    hmm. So the Bishop speaks German? I’ve learnt something new today. Unfortunately I don’t understand any of the gibberish which doesn’t seem to be the kind of German I learnt as a kid. If its a Church quote, better leave it out of here. This is a swim blog.
    I like the second photo, looks like the beach is sandwiched between water on both sides.

    I have a photo of everyone at the Point today! It was absolute magic!
    But in the middle of the bay it suddenly went icy cold!!!
    The Bishop had his bag at the garage door today! What a Scoop… but he now knows how much warmer it is there than where he / A team normally hangs out 😳

    Well using google translator does deliver some odd results!
    Rather than being the words of a pietist, it is just the petulance of a braggart.

    Last photo reminds me of a White Hart Lane event a few years back…

    Love swimming on days like this. My German lingo skills have faded over the years, but I’ll always remembers “Ich muss schwimmen gehen” or “I must go swimming”. It was hard to do when living in a Bavarian winter.
    The other German I remember badly is: “Do not schvet (sweat?) or bitchen about die Herr A-Teams schtuff in der wasser or on der schvimmin bloggen”. It sort of means that if the worst thing in the world the A – Team did was shout out a premature “lets go” in the water and it got to you then the blog probably isn’t the place to vent about it. Swim it off.
    I’m not sure how to say “like water off a ducks back” in German.

    From Google translate:
    “Bless those who persecute you; Bless and swear not… Have a sense of one another. Do not seek high things, but keep yourselves down to the low… If it is possible, so much to you, you have peace with all people.
    Romans 12:14-18New International Version (NIV)
    14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[a] Do not be conceited.

    It’s sad,
    So sad;
    Its a sad sad situation.
    And its gettin’ more and more absurd.
    It’s sad,
    so sad.
    Why can’t we talk it over,
    Always seems to me;
    That sorry seems to be the hardest word.
