Challenging, Ferocious, Dynamic.

26/03/20260

Those were some of the descriptions I heard this morning. It may be true but just wait a day or 2 while the Tasman low builds.

We have been blessed with stunning mornings and today’s sunrise was gorgeous, with a very appreciative audience.

I took the next 3  photos from above the surf club. Since then the Easterly swell has built a  little, from 2.0m to 2.4 m Easterly. Conditions tomorrow morning are predicted to be similar to today’s but from around 3pm the swell direction will swing to Southerly with an increasing period, delivering BIG and powerful waves. The Bower does provide protection from Southerly swells but this will be a big one, with the power in the waves causing lots of sand movement which will pretty much eliminate any hint of visibility. However the swell will be spectacular to watch, especially with a morning coffee. Sadly Vitor will be away but he has trained his colleagues well so we’ll still get a quality Java.

Still, the beach looked lovely, as it always does

A few folks absolutely had to have their saltwater vitamin Sea immersion.

Here is a graph from Willyweather showing the swell forecast for the next few days. Big.

Today is Millie’s last day here as she is moving to Melbourne. She is an amazing swimmer with the Drinks Express. Drinks said it was challenging. Fewer than a dozen did the swim to Shelly with some opting to walk all or part of the way back. The rip from the shore along the Manly Express was very strong (understatement), a situation the boardiders enjoyed.

The lifeguards were very proactive in getting swimmers and dippers out of the water. The next few days will be busy for them.

Paul did the swim and said the hardest part was coming back in from the Point

Here are mermaids Lainey (who is beyond delighted to be back in the water), NIcci and Hels emerging from a sunrise dip

Oh and apropos of nothing at all the temperature forcast for overnight tonight is that temps will drop to around 14. Might be a good idea to get an extra blanket out

Here is an ode to coffee
