The swimming part is only one of the reasons I love this amazing daily drama. Mostly I do it so regularly because of the quirky and kind, weird and wonderful, friendly and fearless, bold and beautiful creatures and characters we meet before, after and during the swim! Here some of our swimmers get up close...

141 Bold and Beautiful swimmers this morning including 4 newbies….3 of which were from Dr John’s Harem of Women! 😉  Temp was 20.2 Before I get on with the blog can I make a suggestion regarding all your gear!! Please put your name inside EVERYTHING! Even your caps!!   Every morning quite a bit is...

In case you haven’t noticed, there has been a bit of rain about.  This may have been the reason there were a total of just 65 B&B swimmers from all of today’s swims between 6am and 7am.  This did make the 7am an intimate affair! While some were hanging around ticking the attendance sheet, chatting,...

Just 39 swimmers braved the elements this morning with rain and big seas. I planned to do the Balderdash and get some photos but the other early morning swimmer only had time for a Shelly swim, so I had 2 options, either swim it alone or join Storchy’s boot camp.  After watching the sets for...

Over 99 swimmers eventually came down to swim this morning. This included approx 6 swimmers who completed the 3km Bolderdash return swim to Queenscliff. If you have never “done a Bolderdash ” this  picture from Richard shows the handy work of our resident B&B artist who recently perfomed open heart surgey on the Queens cliff with a...

What a dark morning it was.  If you didn’t get out of bed this morning, you missed another fantastic swim.  Waves were calm and there were a few rays and fish to be seen if you looked really hard.  The waters were murky but warm.  It was so calm on the harbour side...

Some mornings it can seem like there are parallel worlds.  In the sleepy suburbs the dawn is acknowledged by the calls of the wild birds announcing the arrival of the day. Then there is Manly Beach.   Colour.  Movement. People everywhere!  Be careful to wipe the sleep from your eyes before venturing close to the...

Such a happy swim today! Everywhere you looked from 6.30am until the last swimmers left the cafe, were smiles and gorgeous, friendly faces lit up in glorious sunshine! It helped being greeted by 8 week old ‘Oompa’ before the swim! Then again the beautiful sunrise could have put a smile on your face at 5.46am...

A GREAT turn out at last nights Steyne Dinner! Thanks to everyone who came along and donated so generously to keeping Bold and Beautiful alive without which we all may never have met! 🙂 …and so to the swim… About 98 of us swam this morning, water temp 19.8! Visibility not so great – fairly...

There is absolutely no cause for despair after deciding to swim today.  In fact, I would suggest that it was the best part of the day.  A total of 58 swimmers turned up to take to the water this morning. A few waves rolled in, but really they were not so scary. . .  ...
