Despite being dark, gloomy & pouring rain at 6am on arrival at Manly, by the time it reached 7am all of the swimmers who turned up were very excited about the calm conditions and the rain stopping. An enthusiastic dozen swam out whilst others like me decided on another option. I chose a walk to Shelly beach & there was lots to see on the way. Others chose from a beach run, walk to Queensie or coffee and a chinwag by the surf club.
