Bodgy be gone, Beautiful be back!

22/01/20153

After a couple of days of bodgy weather and condition (and attendance), the beautiful weather was back again this morning. And didn’t we 100+ swimmers enjoy it!

The A-team turned up in force this morning… Sterling back from Melbourne, Dave… well he never really left, Brad was there with his beautiful wife Lucy, Irishman Alex, the Spaniard and of course me, the fat vicar. No Scrappy Scotty though… noted!

This is Mercedes Steve, owner of the Mercedes dealership in Mosman. He told me that if you mention you swim with the Bold and Beautiful you get a half price Merc! He is quite a handy swimmer too, often dabbling around towards the front of the pack.

Here are the boys of the A-team post the swim… trying to work out how the fat vicar beat them around the rocks. It was an absolute classic race back this morning with the lead changing about 6 times in the last 100m. Ultimatley it came down to a sprint between Brad and myself after turning around Barnacle rock, with the judges (Simon and Rob on the point) giving it to me after a dubious early stand up!

Irishman Alex cutting up his hand on the way through… I have seen worse!

Finally it was off to the benches for coffee where you can now enjoy free wifi thanks to the good people at Telstra. Here is Dave downloading the latest stories about himself in the papers. What was that about being debonair and a breath of fresh air? More like a gassy vindaloo after our mens group if you ask me… He is handsome though isn’t he?

Finally a quote to inspire you from my fellow Baptist Mnister, Martin Luther King Jr, whom the US celebrated this week.

Have a great day.

Tim

Is Mercedes Steve really the owner or is that just a bit of fun? … his name does not come up on their web page. Keen to make contact as we are doing a fund raising ball for Manly Community Centre on the 21st March, with the theme Motown and are busy sourcing silent auction items. Would love to make contact with him ( or anyone else that can donate items/services) and see if he can offer a weekend of joy riding in a fancy Merc. Can anyone make an intro? Thanks! Krystyna

    Well done fat vicar.
You sure that quote is MLK? Sounds like Andrew ‘Magichands’ Maher to me. Either way. It’s great.
    Happy Birthday Helen!
