I read Lainey’s conditions report with some relief especially the bit about no blueys. But then remembered low tide was at 06.29 and wondered what the incoming tide and onshore wind might deliver. So far so good as at around 8.45

This is from last Sunday late morning when I did a patrol at Manly. I didn’t take the photo, a lovely Canadian tourist did and sent it to me. What you can’t see in the photo is the tiny fish entangled in the tentacles. I observed the camera features on her iPhone 17 that my iPhone 14 does not have and immediately experienced huge FOMO.
Some lovely B&B ladies – Sheena (new Manly Lifesaver putting her brilliant stamp on the First Aid practices) Janet making a welcome appearance, Jo who swims ever day and Manly Mermaid Lainey who gets up early every day to give us the conditions report. And honorary B&B lady Derek. Lesbubbles giving a helping hand and Zelenska looking ambivalent..
4 devilishly handsome gents. I was asked to pick who was the best looking but that was impossible not to mention politically inadvisable, they are all so amazing.
Today was not a good day for swimming along the rocks due to the swell, but even if you did the viz was not great.

But swimming back in was very easy.
I knew the conditions for viewing the marine residents wouldn’t be anywhere as good as yesterday so here are some shots from then

Octopus near the pool was quite antisocial – saw me diving down camera in hand, put the shell over its head and disappeared into its hole
There were 10 squid in this school. Initially they lined up as if to pose. They do that but at the sight of a camera they disperse. Unkind.
It’s going to be a hot one today, so please stay sun safe but preferably out of the sun, cool and hydrated.
England has just been bowled out and the replays are calling me. Have a fabulous day and go the Aussies.
