The surf was up and a bit of a rip present, signs in place to say the beach was closed. I love watching the surf and surfers but for us it means most of the swimmers entered at halfway or even walked around to Shelley and enjoyed a bumpy swim in the bay.
I found Nicky on the way to the beach having a quick chat on the phone.
On my way around to Shelley I bumped into some early swimmers exiting at half way, always a good sign you’ve made the right decision if the strong swimmers aren’t heading back to the surf and current. Maxine and Midge always have a ready smile.
Luckily for us the sun was out and still a bit of mist and fog but so much improved after all the rain that was needed. Here are some early swimmers having a chat as I enter.
There was not alot to see today besides waves and bumpy water, the odd fish but nothing worth photographing. I noticed some underwater photographers taking shots of swimmers as they went past. I wonder who’s going to appear when and how and why?
Back at Shelley people were milling about and taking their time getting into the water. Cheryl and crew were mapping out their multiple laps they were going to take of the bay while avoiding bumping into other swimmers too.
Nicole and daughter having fun before setting off to swim
I found Elizabeth working the crowd and mingling, always a great person to bump into and have a chat with. Plus she swims at my pace, not often we see each other though.
After the swim more fun happens, alot of people opted to have breakfast afterwards at Boathouse. Shaun chatted to this beautiful dog before heading off to eat. He always makes time to stop and say hello and check in on people, not sure he got much out of the dog , but a cuddle and smile is enough 🙂
Over breakfast I met Ian and Pauline’s grandson, how cuddly and cute! Like having a hot water bottle on your lap.
These lovely ladies were chatting long enough to nearly get themselves a parking ticket!
Now, guess which wonderful male swimmer has a duck family in his bag? Only Shelley and I know, I think!
sweet huh? The stats from today: 7 newbies, temp is stable at 18.4 degrees and 220 swimmers. there’s always options remember if you turn up and the condtions are rough. Ask management and they’ll guide you if you’re new.
Christmas party should be Dec 11th, sort your diaries so you can attend, always a blast and lots of fun.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Edwina.

Very enjoyable swim even though beach was closed. There is always Shelly and half way. Best place to go for a swim
